Leider war eine Baustelle direkt vor dem Haus in Betrieb. Wir sind vorher nicht darauf hingewiesen worden. Beim Bezug am Wochenende wurde alles bagatellisiert und uns nur mitgeteilt, dass der Lärm nicht stören würde. Das Gegenteil war der Fall!
Etwas mehr Ehrlichkeit im Vorfeld hätte sicherlich mehr Vertrauen erzeugt.

Our holiday was amazing. It exceeded all our expectations. We were looking for an alpine holiday with the charming Swiss chalet touch and that's exactly what we got and more from the cable car just on our front doorstep to beautiful trails and lake swims. Our chalet was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The sunny kitchen and garden verandah was our favorite gathering. The bathroom is spacious and well designed. We walked everywhere and had many lovely dinners and lunches in the pretty Old Town with so many sidewalk restaurants accompanied by the charming church bells. There is a great supermarket Rewe. The station is a 10 minute walk. We loved Mittenwald 😍

Our host met us at the station to take us to the property and show us around. This was so welcome after travelling all day especially with a suitcase and a couple of rucksacks. She then offered to take us to the supermarket and drew on a map how we could walk there. It was literally only about 10 minutes walk away as was the station and the centre of town. I should point out that the property I am reviewing is the 4erspitzblick. Our host had thoughtfully placed us there instead of at the Almroeserl due to work being carried out to a new bridge that was causing some minor disruption. The two properties are very close to each other. The 4erspitzblick has recently been refurbished to a very high standard in a modern traditional style. It is very spacious with quality fixtures and fittings. Our terrace and first floor balcony were perfect for enjoying the very warm and sunny weather we were fortunate to have for the two weeks we were there. We received clean towels twice a week and nothing was too much trouble. There are lovely walks straight from the property, up high with or without the help of cable cars, or along the valley and gorges. A bike is very useful as this opens up a whole lot more possibilities if you have come on public transport like us. Also, there are free buses within the Karwendel region and good rail links should you want to explore further afield. The town is traditional and the centre lively. There are plenty of places to eat out, Bayerisches style for the traditionalists through to Balkan, Indian and Italian and the breakfasts at Das Lokal, the Station cafe, are great. The Rewe supermarket (nearest to the accomodation others are available) has an extensive range and there are great independent butchers, bakers/konditorei, and a lovely greengrocers that sells locally grown fruit and veg. There is a free outdoor concert in the park each Tuesday evening and much more besides.
