This is a very safe place and ony 20 mins walk to the center of Old San Juan. The staff members for the most part are great except for couple of interactions I had with some ladies. There is a strict rule of no loud music, however, the cleaning lady entered the room in the morning with a speaker attached to her, playing loud music. When I asked her to turn off the music since people were sleeping she responded very agressively "and I am doing my job"! I believe that it was an unaccetable behaviour from someone who is breaking the hostel rule and also is a staff member. I saw a similar attitude from another staff member who was making a lot of noise in the room, tryng to check in a customer. When a roommate askedher to be considerate of people sleeping she smirked and said "it's 8:00 am"and left laughing. Another staff memebr told me that I was supposed to bring sweatpants and jackets for sleeping and that no additional blanket could be given to me when wetold her that it was freezing cold. There is a strict rule of AC temperature staying at 75 C, however, being a scientist and modeling human thermal comfort perception with respect to the environmetal factors for five years, I can guarantee that the tempeature is way below 75 C. The people who own the hostel (also lots of other propertis in the block) are super nice, welcoming, and generous. I hope the staff members will learn to keep up with the standard hospitality norms as well. AND IT IS FREEZING COLD IN THE ROOMS! Our rom was directly in front of a bar with extremely loud music unti about 2:00 am. It did nt bother me as much, but it happened. Also, the showeres were not clean. Th efloor was filled with hair and trash and it persisted during the four day stay that I was there. I hop there was acommon kitchen in the property, Puerto Rico is not famous for healthy food after all. Th ecommon co-work space was a blast. Overall, it was a sweet experince. Thank you.

This hotel was wonderful for the value. It is very clean, and the staff are very accommodating.
