Very friendly welcome from Shinko-San and her family. Time was taken to advise us about the island, the food at breakfast and dinner was beautifully presented, tasted wonderful and tailored to our requests, and Teppei-San explained each course - which made every meal an experience that we really appreciated. Very quiet despite proximity to the ferry terminal. We loved having the island almost to ourselves in the evenings.

This place lived up to all the reviews! Family owned, friendly and welcoming, with an exceptional Japanese dinner explained by the chef. This really helped as I didn’t know how to approach the different courses in terms of using the sauces and mixing in the flavours. All locally sourced ingredients. It was the same for breakfast ( my husband chose a continental breakfast!). The room was traditional too with futons. Only 4 rooms available per night. They were a little bit dated but that was all part of the charm. Fresh flowers throughout, and very close to the ferry wharf. Highly recommend staying here overnight too to get around the island in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy the early morning light. Note there is no lift and rooms are on the third floor.

The hosts are absolutely wonderful, we felt like absent friends or a niece and nephew. They were so kind, so interesting and interested in us. The food is honestly the best we have had in 3 weeks in Japan. We booked the room out of curiosity based on previous reviews about how good the food was and were blown away. The room was very comfortable, the aircon was good, we both slept very well and they were happy to look after our bags.
