Restful stay with stunning views and wonderful host

Absolutely stunning location. Anne, our host, was amazing and very attentive. Full of helpful information about the surrounding area and eateries etc. The view from our bed and bathroom was breathtaking (room with a sea view). The gardens are beautiful and very well-maintained. Our bed was extremely comfortable. A bath, was a lovely way to end each day, very spacious with lovely smelling complimentary toiletries. The bathroom had absolutely everything you could need, including a very comfy bathrobe and slippers. The breakfast, cooked from fresh, to order was delicious and set us up for our day. I would highly recommend a stay at Halekulani. Next time we intend to use the heated outdoor pool, which has disco lights! 😀 We've had such a restful stay. It was perfect. Thank you Anne

Lovely stay!

Everything was really nice. The views are exceptional. Anne the host was lovely and very welcoming, even gave us two mini bottles of wine in the mini fridge which was a nice touch and came in handy! Overall great and the breakfast was top notch.

Would stay again as hospitality outstanding

Beautiful situation and wonderful gardens all easily accessible. A lounge with lots of local information and books and pictures. Everything needed provided including fresh milk and tea and cake on arrival in the lounge and Anne gave us all the information to make the most of our stay. Quality breakfast and a visual as well as culinary pleasure to enjoy.

Exceptional place to stay. Have booked fourth stay again already!

This was my third stay at Halekulani Devon and it just keeps getting better. Lovely home made cake and coffee on arrival with Anne welcoming you. She even remembered I like soft pillows and my room was delightful with views from Dartmoor to Lyme Bay. Exceptionally clean, plush towels, crisp Egyptian cotton linens and all the facilities you would wish for. Breakfast as usual is deliciously cooked and served by Anne and she is so helpful and willing to please. Really I wish I could have stayed longer and I’ve booked my relatives to come and stay as I know they will be looked after like VIP’e. If you want an exceptionally comfortable clean and well run place to stay look no further than Halekulani.

Wonderful relaxing stay

The breakfast was very good Anne made a huge effort to ensure everything was cooked to our taste the house was in a beautiful location Very quiet and very clean and well presented. Anne was a very attentive host and made our stay feel special I would happily recommend staying there to anyone.

Halekulani Homestay offered a comfortable, relaxing escape.

Halekulani Homestay is situated in an elevated position, set in a large garden with views of the surrounding countryside and coastline. Upon arrival, our host Anne greeted us warmly, welcoming us with freshly brewed coffee and a slice of delicious home-made cake. The property is finished to a high standard, and guests have access to a spacious common area, with comfortable sitting area, sound system and television. The breakfast was excellent, served with far reaching views.

Perfect stay

We stayed four nights at Halekulani. Everything was perfect, from the rooms to the breakfast. Anne was devoted, and helped us all through our stay to find places to visit and pubs to eat in. We enjoyed everything, including the pool. The additional cost was very much justified by the care Anne has for the cleaning, the heating, and also the privacy of the pool. Halekulani is the promise of an outstanding stay in an extraordinary environment, where you can find "luxe, calme et volupté".

Hidden Gem

Great communication, spotlessly clean, beautiful gardens with spectacular views, complete tranquility and free parking and all just a few minutes from both Torquay, the Coastal Path walk and numerous beaches. Breakfast is plentiful, fresh and fabulously cooked. A tucked-away gem - highly recommended!

It was beyond all our expectations and Anne is a wonderful host.

We enjoyed every minute of the two days we spent at Halekulani and so wished we could have stayed more. Set in the beautiful Devon countryside with a stunning view overlooking the sea, Anne’s homestay has the most comfortable bedrooms, delicious breakfasts a heated private swimming pool and a croquet lawn. She made us feel like family from the moment we arrived .

A special place in a gorgeous location

Our host Ann went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She picked us up from the station for a small fee and was very accommodating. The setting and views are lovely. A great place to start the John Musgrave Heritage trail which begins about a 15 minute walk from the house.

A fan in the room for the heat on a hot evening would be an appreciated addition

Lovely hostess, clean rooms, great food and relaxed environment

A beautiful homestay with a lovely hostess, Anne. Nothing was too much trouble. Going the extra mile, making sure we had everything we needed, asking if there was anything she could pick up for us while she was out and on a rainy morning she even offered us the none cooked option for breakfast in our rooms as she wanted us to have a good start to the day. There was a scone and hot drink on arrival which was a lovely touch. The rooms were very clean and tidy, the views were incredible and the breakfast delicious! We also had a cheese board from the snack menu which was delightful! The room also had access to streaming services such as Netflix which we enjoyed using in the evening after a day out, as well as an iPad in the room to browse magazines. Another room in the house was kept for massages by a professional external masseuse who provided us with a lovely back and foot massage on our last day. Overall it was a perfect, relaxed stay in a secluded spot but not too far from lots of amazing places. We would love to go back again in the future. Well worth a stay!

Stunning view, delightful host.

The location is wonderful, it is immersed in nature and you can hear and see wild life all around. We were warmly welcomed by Anne who is delightful. Every details is well thought and she makes you feel at home and well looked after. Breakfast is fresh and you can have it in the cozy living room with the stunning view on the sea. The place is peaceful and perfect for few days of relax. We highly recommend it.

Peaceful and relaxing

It was so relaxing. Anne is the perfect hostess. She greeted us on arrival with tea and cake. Explained a few things and would leave us alone but was always there if you wanted her or needed anything. Our room was clean. The bed sooooo comfy. The view across hills and countryside to the sea were gorgeous. The bathroom was spacious. Toiletries consisted of shower and bath gel, hand and body lotion and shampoo and conditioner - all Molten Brown. Also Q-tips, cotton wool balls and make-up removing pads. Breakfast was yummy and served up warm and fresh. There were options that you could pay extra for, but what we had was more than enough. Anne would come and check that you had everything and ask if you wanted more of anything. But left us to enjoy breakfast with a view of the garden. The road leading to the property is very narrow and the turn in and out is quite tight but just go carefully. You're there to relax so what's the hurry?

Gorgeous Property

Anne was the perfect host and made sure we had everything we we needed for a relaxing stay. The property was just gorgeous,spotlessly clean,very peaceful and in a stunning location, I wished we could have stayed for longer. The bed was especially comfortable , we slept like logs ! Vehicle access was a bit tricky as we have a large classic car but a regular car would be fine. Breakfast was in the beautiful lounge with far reaching views of the coast and countryside.

Anne is a lovely host. We had a lovely room with a sea view and an ensuite bathroom. Wonderful sunset right from our window. She prepared a very good English breakfast and she pays attention to every detail of her guests. Romantic place. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful view from our window. Anne, the host was exceptionally helpful and accomodating. The room was very clean and well appointed.

We had the king room upstairs and the shower / bath was very cramped ie could not stand to shower. If booking that room you need to be aware of the shower arrangements. Some of the house rules were a bit restrictive. Ie not being able to eat in your room. Shoes had to be taken off at the door.

A very comfortable stay at a lovely homestay location.

The location of breakfast is really lovely, the views are exceptional and the food was very tasty. It was really close to Maindencombe beach which was beautiful and Halekulani was the perfect location for our meal out at the Elephant.
