We loved everything about this hotel. It's like stepping back in time, to old Japan. Every detail was special, from the decor, to water features throughout the hotel, in-hotel vending machines, meals, it was unforgettable. We felt pampered, and special, like royalty. The hotel staff was so nice and helpful, some way more than others. Two, in particular, spoke very good English. The meals were amazing. We booked a private onsen, which was so relaxing and therapeutic. I booked a massage, which wasn't what I expected, as there were no oils, aromatherapy, or any skin contact. The masseuse was great, except that he reeked of cigarettes. The property can only be described as AWESOME! High ceilings in the lobby. We stayed 2 nights. Expensive, but well worth it to experience.
The only negative was that this hotel is in a remote area of Kameoka. Since we don't like to catch trains, the taxi ride was very expensive. We stayed there not planning to explore or shop, so this was perfect.

There was not enough staff in the hotel, there was no service for high prices hotel, I won’t come back to stay here
