The strong point is location (close to Luxembourg station and with several bars and some restaurants nearby).
The room is up two flights of steep wooden stairs (no lift) which was not ideal with a heavy case. Moreover, in the morning the bottom section of the staircase was awkwardly full of laundry to negotiate. There was no direct contact with the proprietors since a single code gave entry both from street level and to the room. This is a "red light district" but seemed relatively safe.

Very good location, satisfying level of comfort, great TV screen.
Extremely noisy location (right above bars and a night club with LOUD music until very late at night). You can also hear EVERYTHING all the other occupants are doing. You absolutely need to know this before you book this place.
