Duxton Hotel

It was a nice hotel. The workers were really nice and accommodating. I dont know what would make it 5 star as ive stayed at 3 star hotels that ive gotten more there. Don't get me wrong it was a nice clean and friendly stay but probably wont be back not worth the money

Almost everything is great with this hotel, staff, location cleanliness and even filtered water tap for drinking… One of the best sleep I’ve had during travels and the boomerang pillow was fantastic. However strangely there seemed to be just one channel on the tv, not sure if my remote was spoilt. Didn’t bother me. Also the holder of the shower head was spoilt and slipped to the bottom of the vertical bar. Thus the only option is either to hold the shower head or use the rain shower, which was fine by me.

Booking difficulty - For the Duxton Hotel, we knew from past experiences and reviews that it was slowly shifting into a mid tier hotel. Once dubbed, "Premium quality without the resort style price end" it was difficult to understand what actually was included in the booking as we used Agoda in this instance and cross checked with The Duxton Hotel front desk. A big discrepancy was the unfortunate result of a hotel who lacked accountability. 3/10 2. Hotel and Room Ammenities -The pool, the rooms, and the other ammenities (Sauna and Club Lounge etc) were still ever present and a timely reminder of how something like the Club Canapes and drinks from 6pm till 8pm can still bring back the loyal supporters. The Rooms still lack that 4.5/5 star feel as there are only the select few rooms that contain Bathtubs for extra indulgence. I was made to order a bathrobe and dental pack- something a normal 4 star hotel would always come with. On this time round parking and accessibility were very limited, ongoing renovations to the hotel have made it difficult. 6.5/10 3. Service and Staff - The staff at The Duxton Hotel are generally very pleasant and professional. My experience with Service and Staff in Australia's is hit and miss. Some high end hotels have lacked the warmth commonly associated with the extra money paid, but some lower end budget hotels have made up by exceeding expectations. For the Duxton Hotel it was very similar, hit and miss for some of the staff(ladies on arrival/check in front desk were welcoming and empathetic) but the same cannot be said for the whole crew. No porter boy or clear valet services were present which would only boost the hotels resurgence. 5.5/10 4. Cleanliness and Relaxation - At Rothman Holdings Pty Ltd we understand that having a clean and sanitised environment will always influence the "Relaxation and Feel good" factor. The Duxton Hotel still had understanding that this element was to be critical to a successful hotel and they didn't dissapoint. The large lobby, marble flooring, and clean rooms were still unblemished and whilst we didn't get a chance to check the pool on this occasion we feel that it would be very unusual to contradict the high standard set apart for the rest of the hotel. 9/10 5. Overall Value - There were still alot of reasons to come and stay (Canapes and Drinks in Exclusive Lounge Access) and we still felt the luxury and relaxation a high end hotel should produce in mainly a pleasant experience. However some crucial factors will ultimately be the difference on whether this hotel can survive and from our experience it was as the trend suggested with the staff not accommodating and taking accountability in a hotel that should always be in the top 10 luxury stays in Perth. After taking into consideration alot of small details and unfortunate unforeseen decisions. We tallied up a 24/40 in our 4 main categories. Overall Value. 6/10
