Straits Garden Suites by Yen's Sojourn

I loved the view of the sea from both the bedroom and kitchen. Nice balcony overlooking the pool. Strong water pressure in the shower and good hot water… the mattress was super comfy.

Only issue was I couldn’t figure out the electric stove the whole time I was there… even with instructions from the property owner. I just used a microwave instead.

I liked the swimming pool and building. The apartment is quite small so better for a couple, the view is very nice, there are places to eat and a supermarket nearby, there is a 7/11 convenience store on the ground floor of the building, there is parking in the building parkade, there is a bus stop nearby for easy access to downtown George Town, the host is very responsive and continuously checks by messaging to see if everything is ok, it is quiet and well managed. The shower has good water pressure. The bed is comfortable but the mattress is not for tall people, maybe 6 feet long. There is a washing machine and drying rack. There are some basic cleaning supplies. The internet connection is very good. The air conditioning works well and makes the apartment very comfortable. There is a good fridge/freezer, microwave and a rice cooker. There is a television which we did not use so I cannot comment on it. There is a good water boiler for coffee. There is excellent security and 24 hour access to the building.

The building is not new, but clean enough. There could be a better set of dishes, drinking glasses and coffee mugs, there are no knives in the cutlery drawer. There should be a fitted sheet for the sofa bed. We had to wash the blankets to freshen them up. There was no shampoo but only shower gel. The induction stove top is confusing and not very user friendly. The sofa bed needs a good cleaning or replacement. There are 2 annoying hanging lamps in the kitchen/ dining room that I kept hitting my head on, they should be removed. As I said before, it is better to not be more than 2 adults, there are only 2 chairs to sit on. Overall, these are minor complaints and seeing as the host is very responsive, pro-active and kind, I am sure these minor issues will be rectified. It would be nice if there was a toaster. It is a good place to stay, easy to get a grab taxi into the downtown quickly and cheaply. I would recommend this place for a couple and maybe a small child, but not for 3 adults. We were 3 adults and a young boy.

It's noisy at night because of the noise of the water from the pool, you can hear something happening in the hallway of the house And most importantly, you can hear the noise of the air conditioner from the neighbors or some similar hum that prevents you from sleeping Also a bit dirty There were problems with WiFi at first The table in the hall is uncomfortable, my knees constantly bump into it
