The Old Town Experience - next to Liston

excellent accomodation - right in the heart of the old town, air conditioning was already on when we arrived, collecting the key was easy and our host was very helpful and communicative throughout our stay. The entire apartment was charming and clean. Couldnt fault the place

L’host è stato veramente attento e delizioso. Ha organizzato la visita perfettamente senza bisogno di incontri. Nell’appartamento c’è tutto il necessario o quasi, ed era tutto pulito e utilizzabile. C’è un solo split di condizionatore per tre stanze ma funziona bene e rinfresca ugualmente. L’host ci ha lasciato anche due ventilatori per le alle stanze. L’appartamento ha un’ottima posizione per visitare la città di Corfù, perché è proprio all’inizio delle calle (stradine strette) della città, dove i mezzi non possono più entrare.

C’è una cosa importante da sapere prima di scegliere questa soluzione: non c’è il parcheggio. Nonostante avessimo visto su Google Maps prima di prenotare che c’era un grosso parcheggio vicino, a luglio e agosto è sempre pieno e limitano gli ingressi. Non è responsabilità dell’host, ma è definitivamente una cosa da sapere prima di scegliere questa soluzione: abbiamo passato più di 12 ore (non scherzo) della nostra vacanza girando in tondo ad aspettare che qualcuno lasciasse un posto auto. Questo non è un problema solo su questa casa ma di tutte le case di Corfù città. Tornando indietro, probabilmente non avremmo soggiornato in città ma fuori, perché la ricerca di un parcheggio poteva durare anche 90 minuti e ogni giorno non sapevamo se saremmo riusciti a trovare poi un ristorante aperto. Molte volte abbiamo dovuto lasciare la spiaggia presto per poi comunque dover cenare alle 22:00.

We started this booking with very helpful support from the owner, Spyros. Parking is an issue in the congested streets of Kerkyra Old Town. Spyros provided maps and advice by WhatsApp, so that when we arrived it was a fairly low stress matter to find a good parking spot, not far from the apartment. The apartment is lovely - very clean, air conditioned, quiet, and very centrally located: 100m up the street is St. Spyridon Church, and 50m down takes you the restaurants and parks before the old fortress. Spyros has clearly thought about what should be in the apartment, courtesy water, coffee and so on, there is a washing machine, microwave, cooker and oven. For our purposes, it could not have been better.

The location is very central, next to Corfu museum and Old Fortress. The Corfu Old Town is adorable and we loved to walk to its narrow streets. We had the opportunity to see how life in old center can be.

Aircon is not really useful, since there is no aircon, but some devices close to it. Smells and noise from the street were present, during the night, so sleeping with open windows is not a solution. The apartment is interesting, but one can feel caged within, since the height is quite low.
