Cultybraggan have requested that dogs need to be on a lead at all times while on site and not allowed on sofas or bedsNissen huts were commonly used in PoW camps across Britain during World War Ii. While they were only intended to be temporary, Cultybraggan Camp lived on after the war as a Mod training centre for more than 70 years. It’s now the last remaining Prisoner of War Camp in Scotland and has been named by Historic Scotland as a Unique Heritage Asset of International Value. Thanks to the vision of the Comrie Development Trust, which now owns the camp, five Nissen huts have been transformed into spacious, sustainable and modern self-catering accommodation. They’re ideal whether you’re a keen history buff or simply want a truly unique stay in the Perthshire countryside. While the huts retain their iconic external design, they’ve all been given a major facelift with a bright red roof, crisp white exterior front wall, and black door and window trim, providing an Insta-worthy contrast to the vivid greens of the surrounding Aberuchill Hills. Inside, Hut 37 has been completely transformed with a spacious open plan living room, fully-equipped kitchen and dining space, full of natural light. Blond wooden floors, cream interior walls, pale furniture tones and the white cabinetry of the kitchen add to the sense of space and calm. There’s comfortable seating including a sofa bed and television for when it`s time to relax, plus a dining table with seating for 4.The separate bedroom contains a king size bed, and there’s also a modern separate bathroom with a shower.Key Features Fully modernised, renovated huts.1 bedroom - 1 x King & 1 x Double Sofa Bed 1 modern main shower room.Open plan kitchen and lounge areaDining table that seats 4Fully equipped Kitchen Situated within the former prison of war camp.LocationCultybraggan Camp is situated two miles outside the picturesque village of Comrie, in the heart of Perthshire. Families will love a trip to Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, set in the Perthshire hills, home to a variety of exotic and more familiar wildlife. Golfers are spoilt for choice with lots of quality local courses, or the famous Gleneagles is just half an hour’s drive away. It’s a walker’s paradise with options at all levels, from the Glenlendock Circular Walk that starts in Comrie, the popular and wheelchair-friendly Lady Mary’s Walk at Crieff, to the mighty Munros of Ben Vorlich, Stuc a Chorin and Ben Chonzie.Welcome to Cultybraggan Camp, enjoy this unique stay!Just a quick heads-up: there`s a cattle grid at the entrance of the camp. Such amazing accommodation and location. Being able to stay in a historic place and in one of the actual huts that were in use during the time is so special. I would not stay anywhere else. The camp is quiet, perfect for quiet stay. The camp is the perfect location if you are travelling with a dog, so much space to walk. The team are so helpful in every way.

Check-in easy kitchen facilities had everything you needed. Wi-fi didn’t use so can’t comment. Own transport. Lovely little cafe on site did really good breakfast and lots of choices for other foods . Very pleasant people. Lovely place to stay so quiet and peaceful very friendly staff especially in the museum. They were very friendly and knowledgeable even though they were volunteers. We stayed in hut 37 key box bit fiddly not good for older people if there eye sight not good or arthritic fingers. I wouldn’t say the 66 you get charged for the cleaning is spotless found a few bit of fluff and hairs with furniture not being moved didn’t take photos but still think it’s a lot of money for cleaning. Shower, ,beds and rest of hut we were satisfied with. Furniture in living room area wasn’t comfiest glad didn’t have to sleep on sofa bed but still enjoyed our stay in something different and quirky we would stay again. Only complaint my husband had was the television and its channels. He couldn’t get his head around why couldn’t get normal channels that we know but probably being where we were it’s different but wasn’t big issue. I hope this won’t put anyone of booking this unusual type of accommodation. It was a bit pricey at 152 per night plus cleaning fee but it’s a one off. Thank you for our lovely and different experience.

Quirky accommodation steeped in history.beautifully restored. Great set up A lovely wee museum and cafe on site. WiFi connection was not working. But all well we had our quiz books! Better advertisement. Window signs and a signs on entrance to the camp. As visitors said they didn't know they could stay. ? a piece of netting or something similar as visitors walk right up to your window to look in. Also advised from the on site handyman!

We had a fantastic weekend at Cultybraggan Camp. The nissen hut was very clean & spacious and was equipped with just about everything you could think of from kitchen scales, tupperware and measuring spoons to plenty of bedding & towels. The beds were comfortable, plenty of sockets, wifi was top quality and the place was very cosy with the extra heaters. Lovely area, great walk in the nearby community woodland. We will definitely return and would highly recommend.

The hut was very clean and well stocked everything you could possibly need was there bedding was great heating great parking was really close my only disappointment was we didn’t get into the museum or the bunker which would have made the weekend perfect I know it’s out of season but still I think maybe open the museum for a couple of hours there was quiet a few guests when we were there so I think it would be worth while opening everything up cafe was amazing I know it’s work in progress so I will prob visit again in a couple of years just to see the diff there is so much that can be done with the site and I wish you all the success poss
