Residenza Centopietre - Dorsoduro by Wonderful Italy

The room was clean and had everything we needed. There was an outside patio with tables and chairs for guests to use, and an inside room with a fridge, microwave, tables and chairs too. (we didn't use these, but they were nice extras)

I didn't realise that, by booking this, I'd have to sign up to a second contract with a company called 'Wonderful Italy'. To complete check-in the day before, we had to log in to their portal, go through a second ID/email check with their company, and agree with their own terms and conditions. This was stressful, and effectively moot as we couldn't have rejected their terms even if we wanted to as it was too short notice to change our booking. Perhaps it was in the Booking.com small print, but I'd avoid this if booking again as I only want a contract with one company per booking! The place was nice, but felt a bit like a ghost-hotel as the shared room presumably used to be the shared breakfast room but there was no manager/owner onsite. When we arrived (after our agreed check-in time) our keys were not in the lock box, but the door was open, so we (and another couple who also didn't have their keys in their lockbox) were able to get in. We found the cleaning lady who was in a hurry, who had to find someone else who eventually found our keys. We had trouble with the locks, but the only way to contact Wonderful Italy was via Whatsapp and it took more than an hour for anyone to get back to us. It would have been so much nicer to meet someone onsite who could have helped us, rather than the booking and all communication having to go through the impersonal interface of whatsapp.

You can’t beat the location! The restaurant right at the entrance was our favorite from our stay. The ac was decent given we were there during a heat wave. The bed was firm, We would definitely stay again.

The WiFi was not good at all, and the key was not easy to unlock the door at first. (This wasn’t just us, another patron also had the same issues) also, you have to take your own trash out. Not a huge deal but we felt like that was a basic amenity that should have been taken care of for us.

Its was very central, the bed was very comfortable and the house was quiet as regards to the other residents.

Windows had obscure glass and I could not seem to open them. The wardrobe had only 4 hangers and I could have brought some if I thought there was so few. The outside noise was very loud some nights, it’s not the fault of the residence though, it’s just the location. I would have liked a fresh floor mat for the shower.
