This statement is accurate and true Please do not stay at this hovel Eventually I got the pin number for the door It's a four digit pin an old-fashioned mechanism that you had a slightly moved with your fingers and it was in darkness to get the key out of the safe to open the front door that may tell you this took some time Entering the room I was exhausted and wanted a cup of tea and there is no tea making facilities in the room like a kettle or a cup I decided to go to the bathroom it was dirty and it was smelly I turned on the top for hot water there is no running hot water in this establishment that is no running water for a shower it was it was cold The bed was falling at to bits I had 2 hours sleep and decided to cut my losses and to book another flight that night I did not stay I was booked in for three nights absolutely not I would have walked the streets actually I did I walked from this place Down to the bus station a book to flight from Belfast to Edinburgh I slept in the airport please if you are reading this avoid this I don't all costs this is a genuine inaccurate account I haven't demanded my money back it would make sure Less bookings and make sure that the place that I stayed needs a suitable upgrade because it is disgusting

Convenient location to get into the city center.

There was cockroaches in the communal bathroom! Very horrible using the bathroom as they kept running across the floor and under the poorly fitted lino floor. The bathroom blind was just some rolled up card paper. The communication was very strange, received a message in advance with the rules which included not to bring drugs. The message had many many exclamation marks and was in all capitals. The message said to text a phone number prior to your stay. I did this and had no response so then tried calling and received no answer but received a text straight away after my call saying the check in details would be shared on the morning of my stay. I’m not sure why they didn’t just answer the phone. Then on the morning off I text again and was told to wait until they had confirmation the room was ready and then later was given a code for the lock box at the front door and instructions that the key would be in the door of my room. As a solo traveller it all seemed a little strange not speaking to or meeting anyone or even just not being given clear communication that this was the process. The communal area was tired but clean and basic. The room was very very warm, but I would prefer that than it be too cold. The room had everything you need for a basic stay and the bed was comfortable. The room was cheap and just somewhere to stay for the night while I needed to be in the city, so it worked well for that, but the cockroaches in the bathroom where really horrible!

Everything, room had broken light fitting, on suite bathroom light didn’t work,no handles on windows the 1 there was didn’t work,blinds didn’t work properly,large board put under mattress and cockroaches in kitchen.

Paid upfront for 3 days. Couldn’t make it on the first day so they gave one of our rooms away. Only told us on arrival we had to go to a different address. One room had no lock on the door the other had ants in the bed.

It’s a 15min walk into the city centre. Decent enough for us but maybe to far for others. Big room. Bed ok.

Poor communication from the place. Location and instructions sent after check-in time and had to be chased up cleaning is poor across the whole place with no slight amenities just for coffee and tea bathroom dirty broken blinds very noisy road for our room as well.

Actual room nothing like the picture! First room had no.lock. second room no running water. Third time lucky!! Room had a shower - but no shower head/hose. Sink tap was not affixed to sink and only had hot water. Toilet paper supply inadequate. Communication very officious.

Absolutely nothing

This is nothing like the pictures displayed it was unkempt smelly and not fit for purpose avoid at all costs. We were in the property 1 hour and left and booked into a local hotel.

There was no breakfast in the bnb. To improve the experience i would suggest that a kettle should be placed in every room as there was only one in the kitchen & that kept on disappearing due to people in the other rooms in the house deciding to take it to their rooms which meant the rest of the guests couldnt make any hit drinks.

Paid for my wife and mother to stay, and they refused to after the conditions of everything in the place, they used the words “disgusting, and I should have a refund, due to insects on kitchen table, front door wide open, and felt like a drug den”

Loose plugs, black mould, unclean floor, bugs, broken bed, loose electrics We paid £80 for 2 nights, and it was listed as “passable." It was NOT passable. But to be fair, we cared more about the price than the rating. BIG MISTAKE. ALWAYS check the reviews and the rating—not just the price!

Cockroaches, dirt and bad smell. Cockroaches and bugs started spawning all over after dark and as we fled the room it just got worse. They’re all over. I know it’s cheap and you might want to travel on a budget but just splurge the extra money so you don’t end up like us up all night trying to find a new place

after booking got an e mail saying don't bring drugs which was alarming. needn't have worried though. got there and no one there. no one answered phone so stuck outside. found another man trying to get in and similarly perplexed. realised the door was open so went in, helped myself to a room. 2 ladies thudding around and up in kitchen chatting at 3.30am so not great. maybe I missed the instructions. room fine and clean and pleasant so well worth it, but felt odd not connecting with anyone

Out skirts of City but regular bus service to city centre. self check in so no contact with any staff just via phone Facilities to cook and make drinks. Rooms clean and bed comfortable As I was using for 2 nights stay whist attending a events and sightseeing it suited my needs

only 1 bathroom, didnt cause any problems for this weekend but had there been more staying maybe. would be nice to have a toilet seperate from bathroom but adequite for my needs ths weeknd

Safe to say my expectations were low given the price, but if anyone is ever tempted to book BnB81 in Belfast through booking.com, don't. I think the "81" in the name is not just the house number, it commemorates the last time anyone cleaned the place in 1981. It's not a B&B it's a hostel, and not the sort young people young people use when they go back packing, the sort you get sent to buy the local authority as an emergency measure. I thought there was only one other resident (a delightful chap with mobility issues who it transpired was indeed homeless) but later on in the evening it appeared that it was a popular night spot for Belfast's apparently burgeoning cockroach population (who knew that was a thing?). I'd just about managed to dismiss the ridiculously low level of maintenance (broken window locks/handles, damaged electrical sockets, exposed wiring, nonfunctional blinds, locks hanging off doors). I told myself that my security concerns (insecure locks internally and a fairly rickety key safe on the front door) were an overreaction. I'd convinced myself it wasn't QUITE as filthy as I thought it was, and that I might be imagining the unusual smell. However, the roaches were just too much. It was too late to sort anything else out, and I briefly thought it might be safer on a bench in the local park (then I remembered I was helpfully located between the New Lodge estate and the Shankill Road). When I contacted the owners (there's no one on site) they moved me into another room (which didn't have a private bathroom, we won't even get into the state of the communal bathroom/toilets etc.). Helpful, as well all know cockroaches are famed for their inability to move about/spread. Oh well, lesson learned. Anyway, has anyone ever seen the film Delicatessen? Don't know why that sprang to mind.

Worth the price. Theres just one bed in the room. Nothing else. Its good if you want to crash for a night.

I stayed in room 1, this room was clean and had everything you wanted for a comfy night's sleep. The room was a good temperature at all times and, despite being situated next to a busy road, there was very little noise that would keep you awake. The property is situated on a busy travel route which makes getting buses very easy and convenient. One of the neighbours had a kitten and it kept coming into the garden to get petted, which is always a bonus. The house wasn't full so the communal areas weren't crowded which made cooking and showering easy to manage. If you are looking for a cheap room in Belfast then it's exactly what you expect for the price.

The house is in dire need of some investment in the communal areas. The carpet on the stairs is loose and tripped me up numerous times. The kitchen is very basic and lacked much cooking equipment to make things on the stove or oven. There was no hand soap available and no toilet brush to clean the toilet after use. Some of the plug sockets have been smashed and not replaced which could be dangerous. If I'm being overly critical I would suggest the room could do with a comfier chair to sit in to make up for lack of communal sitting area, but that's a preference thing for myself many people will be happy with the plastic chair or bed to sit on.

The location was quite central and exactly what was advertised , close to a lot of local amenities shops and cafes and transport links. The host went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and provided everything I needed. The room came with everything you'd require to stay and was clean and easy to find using the hosts directions.

That the clothes washer worked, after I plugged it in and that it cleaned the clothes well and the spin cycle left the load damp dry.

This property is a work in progress. I realized it long before arrival, and requested a refund, but was declined. I can see why I was declined, after we arrived. They need the money to fix it. There are at least 5 rooms but all are a bit shabby and definitely 'WANTING' when it comes to care. Really pathetic carpeting on the stairs. I admit to accepting a non-refundable rate but things like having to no toilet paper and filthy carpets on the staircases that weren't even attached on some steps was over the hill when it comes to acceptability. It is dangerous to have carpeted stairs like that. It wouldn't stay here again, under ANY circumstances....even if the property owner paid me to stay....it was that bad. One (nice/only) feature was a tiny washer, in the kitchen, that we used to do 5 days of dirty clothes. While it took 90 minutes for a single cycle, it cleaned them well and the spin dry left the load of clothes just barely damp. But I'd rather wear dirty, stinkin' clothes than stay here again.

So many roaches. Like a concerning amount of cockroaches in the bathroom and the room. Couldn't shower there had to go elsewhere. For the price I wouldn't mind the odd bug but genuinely some sort of infestation going on. Bed was broken and being held together by a plastic bag tying the slats to the frame. Quite literally fell through it. Light bulb wasn't working so had to use lamp. Got locked in the room due to dodgy lock, although after the owner came and let me out/change the locks, i had no further issue with this. Lovely guy very helpful unfortunately I hadn't discovered all the other issues by then or I would have raised them in person.

Did not really like anything. This was not a bed and breakfast establishment, as I had thought, but an Airbnb, which I wouldn't have touched. I arrived at a terraced house, with a key-box, and had to phone the owner to be able to get access. All contact was by text, although to be fair, the responses were quick enough. There was a reasonably equipped kitchen in the property, and the shower worked effectively. Property was on a well-served bus route, and was only a fifteen minute walk to the centre.

Had to used a shared family bathroom on the first floor (my room was on the ground floor), which was infested with some kind of beetles. The bath surround had blackish mould on it, the radiator was rusty, and the taps on the bath had been disabled. I had two free-standing lamps, neither of which worked until I had demanded (by text) a bulb. The front door was rarely locked, so the property was insecure most of the time. I cut my visit short and came home early.

Great location and comfy bed. Very basic but good value for money.

Windows didn't close, curtains didn't keep light out and no WiFi..
