Athenian Serene City Escape

The problem was booking.com. The taxi at the airport did not collect us, and there was a taxi-strike. We had to take a bus. Then we had to find a way to the building. We were faced with 3 key-lock-boxes. It was only through luck that we came across some students, who after a time manage to get us in. There was no indication of codes, or which of the three boxes held the appropriate keys. After that we contacted Booking .com to get a re-imbursement of the taxi fare. it was close to mid-night before we got in. so no photos.

Booking,com's attitude was the problem and so far I have not been reimbursed for the taxi fare that left us feeling used and left to our own devices. We contacted B.C but to little effect. Their system is complex and difficult to make ones way through it. We continued to chase B.C and though they phoned weren't prepared to reimburse us - only about £38.

Safe, comfortable, pleasant apt. Delightful neighborhood. Easy to walk around the blocks. Lots of families and dog walkers out. A number of good casual restaurants (a favorite right next door), fresh food markets, coffee shops, small bars, all very pleasant and accessible. Also just a 10 to 15 minute cab ride to all the sites we wanted. The owner was available by text and phone for a few questions. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Nice to open windows and have small balcony out front. Loved the sound of school children playing across the street. Highly recommend for a couple, 2 individuals, or a couple with 2 kids.

Nothing really.

The property was incredible, so clean and big. After the long trip we'd been having getting to stay in a comfy apartment with the nicest shower i've ever seen. It's right next door to a great restaurant and a short walk to the main Thisseo area and cafes. Really felt like our dream home away from home.

There wasn't air conditioning in one of the bedrooms so it was significantly hotter in there than the rest of the apartment.
