Islestone, 1 Temperance Terrace

Lovely quiet cottage with everything we needed and more in a fantastic location near shops and the station. The owner provided useful information some time before arrival, and there was a lot of information about things to do locally in the cottage as well.

Location was excellent, just a few minutes walk to the town centre or to the railway station. Islestone had all the facilities we could ask for. Berwick is a good centre from which to explore the area and the town itself feels quite unique.

The property is a good base from which to explore the the borders coastal area. Its well equipped with all you need and a separate shower room downstairs in case like me you prefer to shower and be separate from the rest of your group. I saw it does cater for people with dogs, but the place was clean and comfortable. It's just 5 mins walk from the train station and also the main shopping street.

The parking is a bit of a problem, since the New medical centre is being built opposite where you could park previously. However you are given a visitor B permit which allows you to park on the road if spaces are available. Also just a short walk through past the old minor injuries unit there is a large car park (castle gate) with plenty of spaces. I think it was free for 24 hrs, so it wasn't really a problem except of off loading the luggage, but if your quick you can do that outside the property without blocking the road :-)
