The Violin House

The place itself is a gem. It is a beautiful home that is in the perfect location. 1. Location: I thought the location would be far, but I needed to park my car. The location was optimal in my opinion. It is only a 10 min drive to downtown area, but parking in downtown Chania is a nightmare, so a short cab ride is also available. The best of both worlds in my opinion. Groceries and food were very close. 2. Host: Mexales (Mechales) is a joy to talk to. He and his wife are very welcoming and full of smiles. They brought bread, fresh vegies, olives. Mexales makes violins and plays them and it's a wonderful skill and talent. Evalyna was very quick to respond to questions and inquires. You are in good company with them. God bless you guys. 3. The home: It is very well built and AC cools the place very well. They have quality furniture and kitchenware which is not common in many home rentals. The place made our children feel at home. The design is exceptional as well with violins.

The laundry machines cuts off when we leave the house. They have a hotel-like fob key to turn power on for the entire home when you come in and it cuts off all (except the fridge) when we leave. I recommend you allow the laundry machine an exception to run (like the fridge).

Excellent accommodation and hospitality. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated, The hosts, Mixalis and Evelina, were very welcoming, offering us fruit, wine and a basket full of stuff for breakfast! They gave us tips on restaurants and places to go and were very helpful. The location was quiet and very close to Chania. We highly recommend this property for relaxing holidays.

Die Unterkunft war so wunderbar geschmackvoll eingerichtet, dass ich am liebsten das ganze Haus mitgenommen hätte! Die Ausstattung ist ganz hervorragend, alles, was man brauchen könnte, war vorhanden! Und in bestem Zustand! Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, und wir konnten alle Fragen stellen, Michalis hat uns sogar auf der Geige ein Ständchen gespielt!

Weil das Häuschen mehr oder weniger am Stadtrand von Chania ist, braucht man entweder ein Auto oder ein Taxi, um ins Stadtzentrum zu kommen, pro Fahrt circa sieben Euro. Der Taxiservice war super verlässlich!
