Little paradise up in the mountains. Great place to start hiking or to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Nice hosts. They try to give you the best experience.
It is getting a bit too commercial for me, which I didn’t expect up here. They charge a lot for drinks and food. They weren’t transparant to me and charged me too much. It is cheaper of you don’t book beforehand and you just ask for a place to stay.
Paid WiFi. No sockets in the Kutak available, only in the shared room (but here is a lamp!).

The view was amazing. But is there any part of Montenegro without view???
The husband was friendly.
Dajana was communicative (but didn't completely explain the terrible situation of the road)
ADD PHOTOS OF DIFFERENT PART OF THE ROAD SO PEOPLE KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT.
This property is located inside a national park up in the mountain. There is a 7 km, quite incessantly uphill stony dirt road with strong curves that only someone with huge vehicles like hummer or wrangler or rough road bikes can continue. We can't call it dirt or unpaved road, it is rough and very undeveloped. We had a SUV but we got stuck badly in the middle of the road and had to ask for help. If you ask for help to be picked up, it costs 30 Euros one way (or depending where you are in the road). The husband was friendly and came picked us up in the middle of the road with a charge and we had to leave our SUV car at a curve!!! We arrived around 9:30 pm uphill and had dinner which costs 15 Euros each (which was more expensive than good luxury restaurants). The golach had few pieces of meat! They did not greet with a free drink or water even though we were exhausted and stressed because of what happened in the road. The next day we went down around 10 am after breakfast and this was our stay in a terribly raining night and day (9:30 pm - 10:am next day). It was heavily raining that night and our end of our mattresses got wet! There was a leak.
Internet is NOT FREE and costs 3 Euros per phone. There is also 4 Euros entrance to the park per person!!!! These info need to be added to the listing. Also, it is getting a bit too commercial for me, which I didn’t expect up here. They charge a lot for drinks and food. They weren’t transparent and charged too much. There are no sockets in the small hut available, only in the shared room (but in the hut there is a lamp!). There is no tea or coffee making facilities in the common room because they just want to charge you for every small thing!!!
The hut is pretty small, 2 m x 1.5 m. It is not 6 m2 as they advertise. Also, you can't completely stand in the middle of the hut because it's short. The pool was empty. It is advertised that some rooms have sea or lake view but they all have mountain view.

We stayed 2 nights as a family of 4 (children age 5 and 8) and had a good experience. We walked up during a sunny and warm afternoon. With breaks it took us around 3 hours. Warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to our little huts. Clean and cosy. We Joined dinner(fish and goulash), good food and large portions. Cold evening, Cosy and warm in the eating area. Afterwards we played multiple games (available at the camp). During the night a storm with Lots of rain. Little houses Well isolated and waterproof. 🙂. Earplugs came in handy during storm. Good breakfast. Large portion. Options to have lunch sandwich. Multiple Walks and viewpoints available in the area. Next evening we had pie and vegetable Rice. Drinkable water available. Full camp clean and well maintained. Hosts kind, friendly, and relaxed. Breakfast included. Food we paid between 12 and 15 euro/plate. Sodas 3 euro. We had a great stay and experience. We highly recommend. Children enjoyed the campground and all the games. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the camp. We hiked up there with our not so light backbacks, which took us about 2h from the lake, but was definitely manageable. Otherwise they offer a transport for 30€. The Camp is in a beautiful location with stunning views and gives of a calm, relaxing energy. The sleep houses are rather small but absolutely fine for sleeping and they have a couple of shelfes so you can store your stuff.
The common area in the restaurant is great for evening hangouts and playing cards or something. There you also can charge your phones and if you want you can book wifi for 3€ per person for your stay. You also can get dinner (15€ per person). We strongly recommend the Fish-trout, it was amazing! Lunchpackets are available too, though we didn't take them so can't say anything about it.
And as of July 2025 the pool seen in the pictures is there again! (read a comment before that at a time it wasn't)
Overall Dajana is a friendly and very helpful host. We definetly recommend staying there if in the national park!
Sleeping houses are rather small, which may could be a bit inconvenient for taller people, we (about 160cm) were just about able to stand upright in there. But you probably only gonna be in there for sleeping anyway and otherwise either outside or in the common room.

We liked everything. Dajana was amazing, arranging the transportation from the lake and recommending to us the best hiking route. We spent two nights there and wanted to stay longer 😍 The food cooked by her mom was simply amazing! The trout for only 15 euros all the way up in the mountains (catched and cleaned on the spot, in front of us) was delicios and great value for money. We cannot wait to recommend this to all our friends.💕
Too many french people! Haha

All was good comfortable and good place to stay
The price for the fish(15€) was higher than we expected and they didn’t let us know in advance when they suggested dinner before we arrived (in a very fancy restaurant the price for the same dish was 11€)
For example, you can check out prices in this restaurant, which looks very fancy: "Restaurant Or'O".
Also, after leaving a high rating, we didn't like the way the host was trying to say that they catch fish, bring it and so on; they do it for the rest of things as well, and if they bring only our fish, and catch it individually and spend a day for that, it could be a justification. Otherwise, I don't buy it, be honest at least.

Very special place. A perfect place to stay - for hiking in the beautiful landscapes and mountains around. The camp is exactly like the pictures, and lives up to everything needed for this kind of adventure. I would say it suits best for specifically hiking trips - as the facilities are simple (but quite impressive for such a remote location). The hike up is for moderate experienced hikers and above, it's long and steep. But the camp offers a shuttle, which I would recommend if you don't have "fresh legs". There is food available up there (for an additional cost), the hosts will take good care of you. They are sweet, helpful and positive people - and the overall energy at the camp is fantastic. The nature around is stunning and I've never seen such a starry sky before (and probably never will again). Thank you for the stay - we hope to come here again soon.

Kamp Janketic is a wunderful place to stay. Dijana is a warmhearted host and her parents prepare delicious traditional meals! We will come back for sure!

Even that we unexpectedly got really bad weather, Dajana made an effort to help us and find options since we couldn't stick to our initial plans to enjoy the outdoors in Biogradska.
Also, food is very tasty and abundant 🤭
The place is super nice and the people there as well!
I would love to return without fog, wind and rain. Must be spectacular!.
Maybe, to find a constructive feedback, I missed a bit more options to organize and keep our stuff inside the sleeping room hut. Specially because we had bad weather, some more hangers or a bigger shelf in the hut would have been awesome! But nothing important 😊

Dajana and her parents are the absolute best!
They picked us up down by the lake on short notice when we realized our car wasn't able to make the trip up the mountain.
They drove us back down free of charge.
They awaited us with a home cooked meal when we arrived which was delicoius and also provided us with a homemade schnaps that was excellent.
The little huts are just perfect and we slept very well and went on a little hike to the view point for sunrise.
Breakfast was a bummer again with - again - homemade breadrolls, jam, honey and cheese.
Dajana read every wish from our eyes and made it happen. They even have wifi on top of a mountain!
She's the friendliest, most forthcoming host and I absolutely reccomend staying with her and her parents!
Nothing was left to be desired!

Dajana and her family deliver what is meant to be a luxury at 1700m: hot water, warm home-cooked food, great company and a night in nature. Highly recommend to stay here if you are in Biogradska Gora!

This is a truly fantastic place to stay. Unsurpassed location high up in the mountain, for nature lovers (plants, invertebrates, birds etc) this is a relatively unspoiled mountain retreat. There are a few things you need to know:
1) the road from the lake to the camp is unpaved and suitable for 4x4 cars mainly (you could try with a regular car, not impossible but quite a challenge). Ask the owner for transportation and they will pick you up at the lake (the drive itself is already worthwhile).
2) the sanitary is very clean (French toilet)
3) you don't need to bring food / drinks; the host is really excellent and provides you with everything you need (at a low cost). Breakfast and diner were freshly prepared and excellent.
4) the cabins are small but comfortable to sleep two people. For the price, this is really a bargain...

Kamp Janketic is one of those places you want to come back to.
I found this place on the recommendation of another traveller and I will recommend it to others travelling through Montenegro. A place away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds guaranteeing peace and close contact with nature.
The whole place is well organized and tidy, thanks to the Janketic family with Dajana at the head, whose positive energy will quickly give to you.
Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Amazing location; surrounded by beautiful nature and provides access to many kilometers of hiking possibilities. Dajana and her family are amazing hosts that do everything to make it ensure you have the best experience possible.
Make sure to eat the fish!
Keep in mind that this is a camp and therefore not a 5-star hotel. It’s simple and basic but that’s what also gives it its charm. There’s a squad toilet; which we really liked but it’s something to take into account.

Great food, the best we ate on our trip! Our host was a fantastic chef and one of the friendliest people we've ever met. We'd be very happy to come back!
The campground is ideal for very intrepid travelers. Reaching it involves either a 7km hike uphill or a sturdy 4x4 vehicle. We didn't mind hiking (actually we were lucky enough to hitch a ride for part of the way), but I can see how the location would discourage the faint of heart. Once we arrived, our stay was totally worth it! Beautiful mountain views, quiet, cozy and remote. Overall, we loved it!

The family was super nice I really felt like home. Get the fresh fish cooked from the mum (amazing!). The place was clean and the shower and toilet too. We really recommend you the place. You can arrive by 4x4 or walking (1,30h-2h in nature).

The property is in very beautiful location. Houses are small but very comfortable. Dajana is super host. She knows all the hike trails around. Her father came to pick up us at Biogradsko lake, and because we had mountain bike he put us and bikes in the car. Then he drove us to the property. This was very good Idea, because we enjoyed riding bikes there. All the family is super friendly and they takes care of all your wishes.

Magnificant place, set in middle of natural paradise. Dont be lazy to get there. We had great breakfast, ordered fish for dinner. Owners cook and prepare everything. Unique experience. Small but very comfy beds! Clean toilets and shower. Great internet!

Excellent welcoming by Dajana! She is super friendly and enthusiastic! We immediately received a drink and some explanation about the site. The small houses to sleep are super cozy. We enjoyed a GREAT diner, can't ever be more fresh and tasty than here!!!
Wonderful walks in the park.
Local and tasty breakfast.
In short: it was an experience to never forget.
The way to get to the camp is horrible. You drive 5.5km through the forest along a road with rocks, mud, stones, branches etc... take our advice: just take the necessary and go on foot, it's a beautiful walk and a lot better for your car AND the environment!

Wonderful place. The pictures speak for themselves and the place is exactly like shwoen.
They have lots of beutiful benches to sit and Everything is from wood and really clean.
They also have a small pool with trout fish. And a regular pool for humans ;)
Highly recommended.
Dajana speaks perfect English and will happily assist in everything you need.
I was suppose to stay for 2 nights but after one night decided to extend my stay.
Just notice you can't reach it by a private car so you can hike or request a transfer. It only means you have more peace & quite :)

Our week-long stay at Kamp Janketic was a phenomenal, unforgettable experience. The camp is situated in a uniquely isolated location in a mountain clearing at the top of a dirt road in the Biogradska Gora national park near Mojkovac. It is no exaggeration to say that the view from our bedroom was spectacular. When we arrived at the camp, we couldn't believe how stunning the location was. The Janketic family have done incredible work to create and maintain this wonderful space. They are fabulous hosts, with Sanja providing us with three wonderful home cooked meals each day, Mischo collecting us from the bus station and expertly navigating the windy, mountain roads, and Dajana acting as the perfect hostess and keeping us entertained and taken care of with her vibrant personality and caring hospitality. We stayed for a perfect week and were very sad to leave the camp. My only other regret is only being able to rate it as 10/10. Somehow that score doesn't seem to do it justice!
There is nothing negative to say about our stay in the camp. It was absolutely excellent from beginning to end! We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning.
