L'Argenterie, Apparts de charme, parking gratuit

Sophie was an excellent host- she sent detailed instructions with photos for self check in, and came to visit us to make sure everything was ok. The apartment was exactly as described in the listing and I want to note that there was handsoap, dishsoap, and laundry detergent provided. During our stay it was unusually warm in Montpellier and the air conditioner was working hard to keep the apartment cool. Keeping the curtains and shutters closed during the day and using the two fans Sophie provided helped alot. The location is perfect and located walking distance to everything. This of course, has a downside of being a bit loud in the evenings, but it quiets down by midnight. We were there during World Cup soccer with public viewings in the square right around the corner and it was no trouble at all.

The location was brilliant. Everything within easy walking distance, museum, gardens, cathedral, shops, food market, cafes and restaurants. It took a little bit of getting used to, climbing the stairs to bed on the mezzanine floor and the (probably) mandatory couple of knocks of the head on the beams, but we learnt quickly to duck on getting up! Sophie was charming and helpful. In fact, she went above and beyond the call of duty when we discovered, the day after we left, that we had left some things behind in a cupboard. After messaging her, we drove to Montpellier on our way back home where Sophie had collected our things neatly into a bag and met up with us at a time that was convenient for us, in order to return our possessions. Very, very kind and accomodating of her. We stay in properties like this at least 3 or 4 times a year and we have found that ultimately what makes the difference for us between a good experience and a really excellent one where we are keen on going back, comes down to the personal contact with the host. A host whom you meet in person and makes you feel welcome to their property, who is obviously proud of it and is prepared to help with any necessities or problems, makes all the difference! The location is excellent. The bathroom is good with a decent shower, and the bed comfortable.

The decor is a bit bare and tired. The shower head needs decalcing. There was no handsoap anywhere.

I rented this apartment for my Grandad and his partner who were visiting me in Montpellier. My Grandad is 78 and it was his first visit abroad so wanted a comfortable base for him - it was perfect, I was able to cook them meals and stock up the fridge for them. The free parking really makes it good value - and the host was easy to contact and flexible.

The street can be noisy - but expected given the central location. The car parking pass needs to be collected from the apartment and left before you leave so do considered that you will need to park elsewhere during checkout and check-in.
