Tikiri Latha Hanthana

Wir waren 2 Nächte bei Jay in diesem wunderbaren, an den Hang gebauten Haus. Man hat einen tollen Ausblick, von der Stadt ist es erlaufbar und eine teeplantage und bird watching sind direkt in der Nähe. Jay ist ein sehr aufmerksamer, flexibler Gastgeber. Danke auch für die tolle yogastunde und die Ausfahrt mit dem Tuktuk.

Aktuell nach Erdrutschen und Corona-Pleite noch im Umbau, das Restaurant ist noch nicht wieder offen. Hat uns überhaupt nicht gestärkt, aber vielleicht gut zu wissen.

I loved my stay @ Tikiri Latha - beautiful scenery and close to town. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

There are few rooms in this guesthouse. Everything is new and clean. However, the photos not always correspond with any particular room, they are mixed. Some rooms have AC, some dont, while some others have windows and the others...dont. I was given room without AC, but with good view (and big window) Ok, so to the point, pluses: - everything new and clean - the view from my room was great - just like on the photos - in my room big windows, lots of daylight - above there is restaurant with good Sri Lankan food for normal prices - friendly stuff in the restaurant - the owner, Jay, speaks perfect English. So you have that rare opportunity to actually talk with someone from Sri Lanka that can say something more than "hello". - guesthouse is located in nice area in mad-city Kandy. With better air quality and some areas to walk (if you dont mind stray dogs around)

With so many pluses, my stay there wasn't good though. - the room and area where the rooms are located, doesnt have proper sound isolation. You hear a lot of noise (I slept/ stayed in worse places though), like barking dogs (im pretty sure the different ones that I gave food to :P), doors being opened and closed and so on - terrible materace that didnt give proper support for the back during sleeping. Hence, I slept really bad there. - for me hotel room should be oasis of tranquility, that separates you from the outside Sri Lankan "madness", like heat, noise, hassle. Especially in the busy and polluted city like Kandy. This wasnt the case though here. Maybe if you are less sensitive or younger/ drunk, you wont notice it all. But I did. greetings!
