Three Locks Heron View 66 Modern 3 Bed with Wifi and Loch View

The caravan was lovely and clean on arrival. Its in a good location right near Loch Heron that you can walk all the way around and onto another loch with beautiful views. The caravan had everything we needed to be able to cook ourselves. And little added extras like teabags, coffee, milk and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely little decking area.

These didn't affect our stay at all but just a few things to make it even better: The shower doesn't drain properly so takes a while. May have a little blockage. Living room Carpet and sofa arms could do with a shampoo. (This didn't affect cleanliness as there was no smells or odours). Lastly completely unrelated to caravan as facilities are separate: We didn't find the pub on site very welcoming, and prices are very high for the quality of food, although we only tried the sharing starter. So we opted not to go there again. Instead within 20mins you have an Aldi, Sainsburys and got our own food to cook. We also visited a lovely pantry only 20mins away called Brigend Pantry.

Such a beautiful, peaceful location in gorgeous surroundings. Having the internet was a great bonus as lots of vans don’t and it really made a difference for streaming music, Netflix etc and communicating with family and work when mobile signal is hit and miss. The bed was comfortable for a caravan too! (We only used the double) and being pet friendly is pawsome!

Nothing major- just a couple of bits missing like scissors, tin opener and a couple of bits need fixing like the integrated fridge door but these are easy fixes and don’t spoil the holiday just a little inconvenience is all.

Excellent value for money and fab location with lots to do.

First impressions were good - property was clean and secure, hot water and heating worked well, fridge-freezer was on and ready, site was very pleasant with a 2 mile circular walk around the lochs. Location is peaceful, and great as a base for visiting the area. Newton Stewart has a lovely high street with major supermarkets and independent shops.

While some actions have been taken following guest reviews (new patio furniture), many have not (poorly built dining chairs, broken toilet flush, and just ditch the Sky box). Double bed was uncomfortable. Neither of us slept well for 3 nights. Kids said the single beds were good. Kitchen is really, really poor. Considering the property sleeps 6, there is not enough of any type of crockery. No oven cookware, 1 wobbly frying pan, only 1 tea-towel and no oven gloves, eclectic but incomplete collection of utensils. We messaged the owner about the broken gas hob, but the maintenance guy never arrived. There was a hoover and dustpan, but no mop/bucket, no kitchen cleaning chemicals. There are also no bedside lamps - frustrating for adults and scary for our youngest. I recommend the owners stay here for a few days themselves and all these niggles would be easily identified and resolved. With regard to the site, there was no information about how to book the activities. We managed to get swimming, but after days of messages to the site about horse riding we gave up, and didn’t bother trying with any others. Although this is not directly linked to the property, more info or a welcome book would be handy.
