7 / 10Good·Jun 2026
The accommodation has everything needed to rest on hot summer days in Rome. It has good air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The kitchen has good amenities such as tea, coffee, and Italian sweets.
It wasn't obvious in the description that the Red Room has a bathroom separate from the bedroom. The bathroom is still private. It didn't cause much discomfort, but it was unexpected. Also, the bedroom doesn't have good noise isolation. Regarding the location, I wouldn't like my girlfriend to walk alone in the evenings there for example, but maybe this is true for most areas in Rome outside of the city center. Other than this, the area is close to a metro station, and it was easy to commute. For some reason, Google Maps might suggest a strange detour from the metro station to the apartment, but it's easy to find the proper route once you arrive there.

The owner, Marcello, was a great host. Before even reaching Rome, he reached out to me to give me a step-by-step of how to best reach the accommodation, which was actually better than what Google Maps had planned for me. Upon arrival, he took the time to show me around Casa Marconi, which is in an apartment building in a quiet part of the city, which is very easily accessible by metro, and explained that although they don't offer "traditional" breakfast, he keeps the cupboards in the common area stocked with cookies and other things for a quick breakfast, all at no additional cost to the guests. Inside the room, Marcello left a page with information about the region, such as restaurant recommendations around the guest house and a guide for the metro so you can reach the historical sites of Rome a little easier. The place is meticulously clean, the bed is quite comfortable, and the common areas are well-equipped, with fridges, stoves, and even a microwave for quick meals. If you're asking yourself if the property is too far from Rome, or if it would be annoying to move around the city from there, it really isn't. From Termini, the main train station of Rome, to Casa Marconi, it only takes maybe 10 minutes on the metro. From the Marconi station to the property, it's only a short 5-minute walk. By the way, there is an elevator on the property, although it is a little tight.
I stayed in one of the suites, and while the bathroom itself is very spacious, the shower is a little cramped. If you are a larger person, this might be a bit of a problem, but nothing that really detracts from the experience. There are also separate bathrooms outside the rooms on the property, which might be a little larger, although I have not looked at them myself.

The management is very polite and nice, communicates clearly and always replies to messages. The room was very clean and everything worked great. The addition of the coffee machine in the room was the cherry on top.
Nothing.

We started our Italy trip with Rome. Stayed @ Casa Marconi for 4 nights. But after Rome, every city we visited and every place we stayed at...we kept missing Casa Marconi. The host Marcello is a gem of a person. The infrastructure he has built by the name Casa Marconi is beyond words. Anything you wish should be there in an apartment to make your trip comfortable, you will find it @ Casa Marconi. Most importantly the Vibe at the place is very good because of which you feel at home :)
I wish we could stay there a little longer. But definitely next time
