Location was excellent. Restaurants close by as well as ferry to Valetta. Neighbourhood felt very safe for single female

Could not fault the location which is fantastic. Birgu itself is a charming suburb with beautiful historical buildings, a lovely central square and within easy access to bus stop, ferry, waterfront and several sightseeing spots. The room was well located and I was thankful it was on the first floor and not any higher given the narrow, awkward staircase! (There are four floors and I counted around 100 steps to the rooftop terrace which has great views). Appreciated that I could leave luggage at the owner's restaurant after check out.
Room is quite small with nowhere to store luggage (it would be a struggle with two people!). Room did not smell fresh. Toilet was in same space as shower so would get wet. But what let this place down the most was the linen which was old, pilling and threadbare (the fitted sheets had holes in it). Pillows were also incredibly lumpy and there were no blankets. I messaged the host to ask if I could get another pillow and was told one would be delivered to me but it never was. New linen (including towels) would improve this place 1000%.

It was difficult to find the office. But the staff members found me. It would be nice to instruct on the add, where to collect the key from on arrival.
The Main door (Red) was difficult to open and close.
