Great View, Poor Conditions – Not Suitable for Remote Work

The apartment in Raca offered a magnificent view of Ohrid and the lake.

Absolutely unsuitable for remote work. Although the apartment in Raca offered a magnificent view of Ohrid and the lake, the interior conditions were disappointing. The rooms had cobwebs, indicating a lack of proper cleaning. The TV could not be connected to the internet, and the Wi-Fi connection was not only extremely slow but also disconnected every two minutes, requiring constant reconnection. These issues made the stay quite uncomfortable, especially for anyone needing a reliable internet connection.

It was super dirty everywhere, floors (old chocolate packages, dead flies, dust), wardrobes (spider nests, dirt), some bed sheets (brown stains) and baths with mold. Besides all wooden floors, beds and door holders were cracking.

Private pool - with spectators

We wanted a large accommodation with a private pool and terrace - and that's what we got. The key handover was easy, we could even get into the house a little earlier. Living area and bed rooms are large, but the kitchen could be a little better equipped. The broken dishwasher and a damage in the bathroom were repaired soon. Communication with Pero was uncomplicated via WhatsApp, for specific concerns his mother came by. The new pool is amazingly large and deep, fun to swim in and cool off. The loungers are comfortable. The view over Ohrid is great. By car, you can be at the lake in a few minutes, and it also only takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach. The house is also a good base for hiking in Galicia National Park. A second terrace below the pool is also available, the car was safely parked in a covered parking lot.

We thought we had booked our own house - but there is another apartment on the 2nd floor. This was not apparent from the pictures on the internet. These guests look directly at the terrace and the pool. This made us feel a little uncomfortable. Since the ceilings are very thin, you can hear every movement of these guests. The bathrooms are very small and old, the lighting in the whole house is cool and uncomfortable. In addition, the accommodation is not for people who want their peace and want to sleep quietly: On weekends, the whole day was very loud from the large sports field directly below, every evening until late at night music and beats could be heard from the valley. You should also know that the pool and the terrace were in the shadow until noon during our stay at the end of August.

De locatie van het huis is prima. Parkeerplek is lekker ruim. Mooi uitzicht over het meer en de oude stad. Zwembad is prima.

Naast het huis wordt een nieuw huis gebouwd. Toen wij er waren maakte dat overdag best herrie. Boren, timmeren, zagen. Niet echt relaxed. Het huis en ruimtes zoals douches en toiletten ruikt erg muf. Niet echt fris. Er is nog een appartement bovenverdieping en het is erg gehorig.Het is het allemaal net niet voor deze toch wel behoorlijke prijs. De bedden zijn allemaal anders en niet echt comfortabel. Slechte matrassen en alle bedden kraken en piepen. De vloeren en deuren van de slaapkamers kraken en piepen. Dus als iemand in de nacht naar toilet gaat dan is het hele huis wakker. Al met al kan het een serieuze upgrade gebruiken.
