Everything about Edel House Ostia was beyond great. I stayed there with my mom for 4 nights. I can't emphasize enough how much this place has served as our sanctuary after the long days of walking around Rome. We wanted to be away from the crowd in Rome, and we wanted a place that's close to the Fiumicino Airport since we arrived in the evening, so we booked this place. It was super easy to just take the local bus from the airport to reach the apartment. Also, it only takes 30 minutes to reach central Rome by the local train from this city (Ostia). There were restaurants, markets, and bakeries around as well, definitely in walking distance. Another reason I booked this place was: I saw that they had green sofa and red-tiled bathroom - which I also had back home! What are the odds? It's not everyday that I can find red bathrooms, so I was very excited to find a place that has a similar style as mine. Edel took amazing care of this apartment (beautiful decoration, impeccable cleanliness, super comfotable sheets and towels) - she herself lives next door so will always be available if we need her. Carla, her daughter, helps us thoroughly with the communication as well as provided us with great recommendations around Ostia. This place was the first accommodation my mom and I had for our Italy & France trip, and after staying in the next ones, my mom kept saying that she wished all of the other places could be like Edel House Ostia. It was just too good. Everything was perfect and we loved the hospitality so much. They even gave us a small bottle of Prosecco upon arrival. If we ever visit Rome/Ostia again, we'll definitely be coming back. Thank you!
There was nothing that we didn't like about Edel House Ostia. Other listings on Booking.com should learn from them, how to take great care of their properties and provide a genuine and real Italian hospitality. We loved everything!

Great communication from the host and her daughter. The host and her husband are super friendly and helpful. The apartment is spacious and clean in a safe area in a building with a doorman. It is convenient to restaurants, cafes, the beach and shopping.
I forgot to mention: the air conditioning is AMAZING! It was so hot and humid during our stay but it felt like heaven inside the apartment.
Also, with the windows closed there was no noise from the street, and the apartment is soundproofed so there was zero noise from neighbors. Out of 7 places we have stayed in Ostia in the last 8 months this was the quietest.
The mattress on the sofa bed was too thin but I told the hosts and they bought a new, thicker one and sent me a photo. It looks super comfortable.
I wish there had been an iron and a freezer but the kitchenette was nice and clean.

Very nice owner, very helpful and answered questions quickly. She helped us get to the morning flight. The apartment is clean and spacious with everything you need. Well equipped.
The only small minus is there is no sea view, so it should not be in the description of the apartment and unfortunately the renovation of the facade of the tenement house, which we did not know about before arrival, but this is not the fault of the owner. The workers came at 8:00 a.m. so we had no problem with that, because we got up and left in the morning, so it was not a problem for us, but we should get this information before our arrival.
