Helpful staff. Clean room. Coffee in the morning
Slightly further away and some noisy neighbourhood dogs at night. Would be great to get breakfast included for the price

The staff is very responsive and the hotel has its charm, very clean, love the birds chirping in the mornings.
Nothing to mention on this issue. Everyting was fine.

Room is clean and staff is helpful and friendly
There is no kettle and also the room faces the courtyard and stairs so the privacy is lacking..

The entire staff was very kind. Someone was always at the front desk, and were always very helpful with whatever assistance we needed.
Sometimes the hot water wasn’t consistent, so often just took cold showers to save time

Nicely designed hotel with very kind staff. Very clean and we found the bed super comfortable, some of the better night's sleep we had while traveling. The inner courtyard and terrace are also very nice and we enjoyed staying in Xochimilco.
Nothing really - the hot water was a bit intermittent.

I loved the location, in a quieter neighborhood (Xochimilco) with many great restaurants nearby, as well as a convenience store. The walk into centro was about 1 mile depending on where you were going, and it was a lovely walk with many murals, aqueduct remnants, and very interesting buildings. Much of it can be on quiet streets. The neighborhood and walk to centro are both very safe. Staff is extremely accommodating. I was happy to have a courtyard room to avoid traffic noise.
I wish the bar was open and attended every evening, I would like to have socialized there. The room is fairly small, but it does match the price. I would hear a lot of hallway noise in my room, as well as something blowing around on the roof at night. The mattress could have been more comfortable, but it is standard for much of Latin America. If I was less than 60 years old it would not have been a problem.

Very welcoming and friendly staff , lovely environment and nicely decorated. We were grateful for the water station on each floor. Delicious breakfast on the roof
Water pressure was a bit low in our room

Santa Cecilia Hotel is a small gem of a hotel located in the fascinating Xochimilco neighborhood of Oaxaca, the oldest neighborhood in town. There are gorgeous colorful houses and priceless murals in the Mexican tradition all around. The hotel itself is simple yet beautifully decorated with an artistic eye that combines style and sustainability. The brother/sister team who run Santa Cecilia Hotel are incredibly gracious and friendly, and stop at nothing to meet any need. In addition they provide access to a clean, safe and inexpensive taxi service on an day. Drinking coffee as I enjoyed a gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace was as good as it gets. The hotel is a 20-25 walk from the core of the Centro district, along one of Oaxaca's best streets, Calle Rufino Tamayo, which becomes Calle de Manuel Garcia Vigil, lined with galleries and high-quality arts & crafts shops

Really pretty hotel in a super calm location.
Beautiful room.
Very nice staff.
We couldnt open the window in our room bcs it was at the passage and would have allowed ppl to get in without issue.

This is the most lovely little hotel which we loved everything about. We were busy exploring oaxaca so didn’t spend a huge amount of time there but the room was dreamy and the staff so lovely. I can’t wait to come back to oaxaca and would definitely stay here again. The neighbourhood was perfect, a bit out of the main town but an east walk. Beautiful coffee shops and bakeries along the way not to mention all the amazing street art.

Very clean and lovely setting. Very secure
The route down to the Centro is absolutely incredible. It’s super safe and has incredible cafes and street art on the way
It’s such a small thing but maybe a lamp in the room would be nice. The main light is so bright

Great people. Quiet location. Free papaya for breakfast :)
Chic design and overall cozy and comfortable.
No gym or pool (It wasn't advertised so just flagging!)
Wifi was iffy.
No bathtubs (even though the listing said "shower or bathtub"). This should just be clarified.
Cold at night during winter (no heat) -- but they did provide extra blankets when we asked.

Staff super friendly. Small breakfast included. Hotel new and cute interior design.
At one side of the hotel the river smelled so bad at sewer and cloaca that the plower rooms were not usable, upper rooms only with closed windows which made sleeping at night difficult. We should have turned around and leave that moment . The other side has a road busy with traffic and loud and the room much smaller. They offered to change to that road into two separate rooms but that option isn’t viable when traveling with two little kids. The internet didn’t work the whole last day which made working and planning our trip from hotel impossible . Shower temperature switched between hot and cold without touching the grifos, even after the handymen tried to sort it out , it remained difficult to shower, Specially the kids.
After accumulation of three of such incidents and after seeing that their prices where higher than the others in the city that time I addressed my complaints to the management but was Refused discount or refund as we had left the hotel already. Instead was offered a discount at my next trip there … as if we would ever return there. Very disappointing. can’t recommend it!

Great ambiance.
A little far from city center but not terrible.

Very nice area a bit further from the busy city center, full or art and restaurant options.
The staff is extremely friendly and booked us an amazing tour to Hierve el Agua.
The water pressure in the shower is very weak and regulating the temperature is quite hard.

Location could not be more perfect, it’s just far enough outside the noisy part of the city while still being a short, beautiful walk over cobblestone roads.
The staff were also extremely helpful and always available. They helped us with everything from organizing local trips to getting some pedialight for my girlfriend when she got sick.
The room and overall facilities were also really clean and nice, including the common area. We worked from the common area for a few days and it was great.
WiFi was inconsistent.

- I loved the room, its size, design, big windows and a small balcony
- The personnel is great, very happy to help with any question I had
- The hotel is situated in a very nice and calm neighborhood, with lots of graffitis
- it is a 15-20min walk to the center: personally, it was not a problem for me, as the neighborhood is very nice. But if you have any mobility problems, it may be an issue

Very nicely decorated new hotel which offers fantastic value for the money. The rooms are comfy, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There’s some really good food options for breakfast as well as for dinner within 5 minute walking distance, which was very convenient.
Nothing we didn’t like, only two things to be aware of: Firstly there’s no AC (which wasn’t a problem at all when we were there with temperatures at around 26-28 C every day). Secondly it’s a little walk to the center (15-20 minutes) - but through very nice neighborhoods. Alternatively, the cabs to the center were also only about 60 Pesos.

Very friendly staff. Very clean, you can always see someone sweeping the floor.
There's no windows in the bathroom so you can hear everybody and everybody hears you.

- Big window to the outside (rare in Oaxaca)
- Nice view
- Good looking little hotel
- Neighborhood is nice
- Nice staff from check in to check out
- Courtesy water, coffee, bread and fruits
All in all, the hotel is cute and in a nice place and with very nice staff, so we regret that it wasn't a very pleasant stay... but if you're alone in your bed and have earplugs for the night, it's fine !
- no soundproof at all (could hear neighbors shouting, singing, during the night, could hear a terrible sound of pipes from room to room, and plenty of dogs barking outside all night long.
- beds are a bit too small for two
- no pressure in shower
- hot water is very long to come in the shower, generating a lot of water waste
All in all, the hotel is cute and in a nice place and with very nice staff, so we regret that it wasn't a very pleasant stay... but if you're alone in your bed and have earplugs for the night, it's fine !

Very beautiful, in pretty local neighbourhood walking distance from the Oaxaca centro! staff was very friendly and helpful
The building is very noisy, doors slamming and even bathrooms and flushing of toilets are heard in separate rooms! this could easily be fixed with a water feature and some rubber seals on the doors, to stop slamming noise and create white noise

Great stay, they provided complimentary fruit, pastries, coffee and tea in the mornings and everyone who worked at the hotel was very attentive and lovely!

This hotel is lovely - the staff are very helpful and accommodating, there was a nice little breakfast set up, and it's located away from the main center in a cute area with good restaurants and cafes, while still being very close to the center. Because of its location, I got to see more parts of Oaxaca City than I would have if I got a central location and I got to be away from the hoards of tourists. The rooms were clean and decorated with lovely local art and handmade features. I came here as a solo woman and felt safe and well looked after here! Plus having the water coolers was a really nice feature as well to have unlimited water outside your door.
The only issues I had were with the internet, but there were many cafes nearby to work from and the city center also has affordable coworking spots. The staff also worked to get it working again for me, and it's something beyond their control. Additionally, bring earplugs as there are a lot of dogs barking at night - but this is for all of Oaxaca City and beyond and not something specific to the hotel or its location.

Incredibly kind, attentive and helpful staff, great location - easy walk to city center, all shops/services needed just a few steps away. Great place + great people, I'll come back as soon as I can.
Everything perfect

The hotel is new, very clean and modern.
It was VERY cold in the room. There was a open screen in the bathroom that let the cold night air in. It was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was minimal.

Rooms should have a mini fridge

it was clean, great location, wonderful staff.
The walls are super thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. there’s no privacy. Showering was a challenge. we ran out of water a couple of times and we hardly ever had hot water for a warm shower.
