About this house rental
Charming home only 7 houses up from the shores of Miller Beach. 2022 kitchen rehab, down to the studs, is a chef's dream and stocked with more than the basics! Breakfast bar and eating area seat 9. Sun drenched main floor with an open feel has full bath and primary bedroom. Large deck, partially covered with beautiful tree top views and seating for 6 adults. Upstairs you'll find 2nd bedroom with 1 Queen bed, loft area with 3 twin beds and a powder room. Ample space for pack’n’play and closets to stow your things. Basement has tv, sectional sofa, daybed, 3rd toilet, 2nd refrigerator, beach towels, extra linens & laundry.

we had an overall WONDERFUL vacation week at Emmits Place after being a little disappointed at first.
This is an older house that has had wonderful renovations on the first floor where the master bedroom is. The kitchen is awesome, the bathroom is a little outdated but functional. It was basically childproof for a 1 year old walker after we put up the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs-- just beware of the heat vent in the bathroom.
The second floor (attic) contains an area at the top of the stairs (steep stairs) for three twin size beds and access to the upper half bath. I did not use this bathroom so I dont know the specifics, but it looked OK. Note-- the only shower/tub is on the first floor. Beyond the twin bed area is access to the upper queen size bed room, with a door for privacy. Both of these upper areas have window air conditioners and multiple access doors to small storage areas. It would probably be perfect for older children who dont go "exploring"!!!
The lower floor contains the washer dryer room with an extra refrigerator, one more twin bed, and a small, darkish sitting area with a second television. there is a third toilet under the stairs. This area was quite dark and "spooky" according to the 5v year old. There was easy access for any child "explorer" who wanted to find where the noises were coming from. we locked the basement door, and no children were allowed down there. No one chose to sleep down there.
Location is quiet neighborhood.

Emmets place was the perfect stay for our mini beach vacay! It comfortably slept 6 with multiple hangout spots. The outdoor seating was plentiful. There was an amazing selection of beach toys and wagons. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The place is walking distance to the beautiful beach and Lake Michigan!
House is spacious with a lot of room for a family. All amenities a house normally has also.
About 5-7 mins you can drive and take the Portage location of the South Shoreline train to Chicago about an hour away too. Wells Street beach concession stand is about 4 blocks away if you want a burger too.
Great spot near the lake and felt safe.

Beautiful home steps away from Lake Michigan. Very cute and clean cottage with ample clean linens and beach supplies. Well stocked kitchen with anything we could need, and the bonus fridge in the basement was very helpful. The house is quirky with notably sloping floors in places and a basement that is great for a hangout, but not a desirable sleeping space. Regardless of the quirks, we had an amazing time on the beach, visiting the Dunes, playing frisbee golf at the park, and an easy day trip to Chicago.
