Great time at the Lake Shore house. My family flew into Chicago and was going for the Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame game. This is a great location because it is right in the middle between Chicago and South Bend and only about 1 hour drive to each. The house has tons of beds and nice accommodations and amenities and the gorgeous Indiana Dunes West Beach is right across the street just like the picture shows. We took long walks and enjoyed the beach and dunes on one day and went to Notre Dame for the other day. Great trip. Recommend staying at this nice property.

Came here with my sister and our families and parents. This is a nicely modern home with very nice decorations and kitchen appliances and plenty of quality pots and pans and spices. Felt like the host's home and not just a rental. While we were there, we put aside some decorative vases, so the kids could not accidentally break them. A partial view of the lake and close easy walk to the beach with the kids and some toys to enjoy too. Host was proactive about reaching out to talk through the check in process and so very helpful afterwards in helping ship some items we had accidentally left behind home. I would stay again.

Elena’s house worked perfectly for our group of 10. You can’t beat the proximity to the beach as the access to Miller Beach is across the street. The beach is exceptional…wide sandy beach, gradual water entry, clear water, not rocky. Perfection! Elena was easy to communicate with and was available if we had any questions. The house had several different areas for gathering and conversation and a nice outdoor space if the weather suited. We would definitely rent Elena’s house again.

Fabulous house, well appointed and decorated. The washer, dryer, kitchen appliances, pots, pans, dishes are top of the line. The bathrooms are marble and the linens and towels are luxurious. A huge picture window opens up the space with sunlight and you can see the lake just beyond. The neighborhood and beach are clearly cared for like the treasure they are. Elana, our host, had excellent communication and advice for activities. She is gracious and helpful. She has a beautiful rental home. Our family will certainly return, and the grandchildren are already asking when that will happen. We had a wonderful time.

We had such a wonderful getaway with family in Miller Beach at Elena’s lovely property. It was even more beautiful than the pictures. The kitchen was very well equipped for meal prep. We really enjoyed the patio, grill, and outdoor table and chairs. The beds were so comfortable with great linens. The beach is close and an easy walk away. Elena provided so many beach toys and blow-ups as well as a wagon for toting to the beach. This experience was superior to most other rentals we have tried. We can definitely recommend it to others and hope to be back soon!

This is a very nice area with lots to do. Elena was very informative about the area and restaurants. The house was very clean and neat. Well stocked with all necessary accessories. Lake Michigan beach is less than a block away. Visited Marquette Park, St. John - The Shrine of Christ's Passion, Valparaiso University Chapel, Michigan City Lighthouse as well as surrounding wineries. The sunset at West Beach was outstanding.

My sister and I rented the house for Thanksgiving week because our 91yr old Grammie lives in NW Indy. We needed a 1st floor friendly space to host turkey dinner and hangout with aunts uncles and cousins. Elena’s house on the beach was PERFECT for us!!! The basics started at clean updated bathrooms with nice linens, comfortable beds with newish pillows, functional kitchen that 2+ people easily fit, and plenty of seating that didn’t feel crowded. All that and then some. Just a few of the bonus awesome features we loved are the hat collection in the giant bathroom, all the wonderful eclectic interesting artwork, the large capacity washer & dryer, and all the unique serving ware and dishes tucked into the huge kitchen cabinets. Thank you. We loved it, and I know we will leave Texas again to come visit this house for sunny warm summer beach days very soon!

Me and 3 of my "girlfriends" stayed at the house. We found everything to be as stated in the info. It was nice to have the larger comfy beds and all the baths to accommodate. The house was well supplied with everything we needed ( except I couldn't find a liquid measuring cup). Lovely place to stay at and lots of towns to visit close by for choices to eat at some unique restaurants. Oh and so close to the beach with great access!!!

Our family had a wonderful week at Elena’s beautiful Miller beach house (our 2nd yr)! My husband, kids (11 and 14), and I loved spending the week there. My 70 year old dad and step-mom joined us for a few days, plus my brother and his wife, and the house had plenty of room for all of us. Bonus: our older family members could enjoy main floor living with their bedrooms, bathroom, dining, and family gathering spaces all on the main level! And thank goodness for the 3 full, well-appointed bathrooms when you have a big crew like ours. The beds are all comfy, the rooms are clean with plenty of space for all of our stuff, and the kitchen is the best stocked rental kitchen we’ve ever experienced (after 15 years of renting beach houses, that’s saying something). The house has plenty of spaces to gather (open layout living room and dining room open to the kitchen, basement hangout areas, and sunroom) and a truly delightful patio perfect for dining al fresco or lounging with a book and beverage. And the most important part (to me, at least)—the beautiful beach is just across the street! Beach access is quick and easy, and the house has a beach wagon for hauling toys and beach gear (chairs, toys, and boogie board were available this week for our use). Do remember to pack your own beach blankets and beach towels, though. The beach was absolutely perfect this week; Elena is a wonderful, communicative host; and we can’t wait to return to this lovely home again! Thank you, Elena!!

This Miller Beach home is a very short walk away from one of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches in the Dunes. The sunny, airy house offers beach toys (but not beach towels!) galore and an outdoor shower. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is super well-equipped, and the house is full of personal touches. It is very well kept up. Our host, Elena, kept in touch, which we appreciated. We enjoyed eating outside on the large, lighted patio, and the kids loved the rabbit who hangs out in the back yard. There were 6 of us--larger parties should know that the two downstairs bedrooms are dark and feel isolated. Shopping is about a 20-minute drive away; the only nearby restaurant is not family-friendly. These are quibbles--we spent 10 days there and enjoyed every minute.

The house and amenities were great - the best amenities I’ve seen at a rental. Everything you need is provided and top notch. From a Ninja blender to facial cleansing clothes and aluminum foil, we had everything we needed. The beach was so easy to get to, and was far away from the public parking so it was not busy at all. My only suggestion is to update the entry doors (main door and basement door) to a lock with a code for entry. Using the traditional lock box and managing a key was not ideal. We really enjoyed the gardens and art inside and out. I especially loved the railroad tie art in the garden…gave me inspiration for my own yard.

The home and area were beautiful. Unfortunately, the attitude of Elena was not as desirable. There was a gas leak and while Elena did call the gas company, she refused to her have her maintenance man visit the property on the first night. Instead he came on Saturday morning and disturbed sleeping guests for a bit. We had to have our own person stop by to say they were maintenance to avoid having the gas completely shut off until morning. We had to pay our local person for his inconvenience which Elena said she wanted to at least tip him, and this never happened. On Sunday we honored an 81 year old guest with outdoor music from 5 - 6:30 pm. Shortly before 6 pm Elena called and said she received complaints. AT 6 PM? I verified noise ordinances are in place beginning 9 pm - 9 am. Seems quite odd that we were called around 6 pm when it was early and not very loud. We asked for a bit of a refund for our inconvenience and Elena declined, offering a menial amount, refusing to negotiate and then discontinuing communication. I have never used VRBO before and since all communication was with the host I did not even think that we would be looking for alternate accommodations. Elena tried to blame guests about timing if notifying her and such. There is no blame for people who paid in advance and could not even turn in the stove to cook for senior citizens either health concerns because of the gas danger. Elena was interested in her review rather than guest comfort/safety.

Elena was a very helpful and responsive hostess. The home was located next to an easy path to the beach. It took just a few minutes to walk, even with young children and a wagon. The outdoor shower made sand removal quick and easy. The patio/backyard was a wonderful place for the children to play while we cooked meals. We spent time visiting and playing games with family at the large tables. The parking area was level and had plenty of room. The home amenities exceeded our expectations. This was our yearly 4th of July family vacation to Miller Beach. This house was awesome!! Elena has everything you need in her home and it was super clean, which was super important to us. Her home is located across the street from the beach with a super easy path to the beach. She is always a text or phone call away if you need anything. Perfect for family with kids. She has a great patio for grilling and hanging out, bikes to ride, Beach Toys, etc. We will definitely love to rent her house again. My only suggestion is that if you plan on renting and you like to watch tv or movies, bring something to watch on, because this home only has one tv in the basement. We knew this ahead of time, so we all would watch movies at night on our ipads/phones/laptops etc. It was such a great time, cant wait to do it again :) Thank you Elena for sharing your home with us.

We loved staying at Elena’s beach house, just steps from beautiful Lake Michigan! The house is absolutely lovely—plenty of space for our family to gather for meals, lounging, and to play games, both inside and out (the patio is gorgeous!!). The artwork and decor are very cool and make this home a definite step up from other rentals we’ve had in both Miller Beach and Union Pier, MI. Comfy beds, updated bathrooms, and an excellent stocked kitchen (great for cooks like us!) made the stay extra enjoyable. Elena is very welcoming, helpful, and responsive. Our teen and tween both said her beach house is their favorite place we’ve stayed in 10 years! We can’t wait to come back!

Couldn't ask for a better location for a beach vacation. The beach and water was great. The neighborhood was nice. The kitchen was fantastic for a large group. The outdoor shower was nice when coming back from the beach. The outdoor space was nice and provided a good place for meals and hanging out. We had a couple of home maintenance issues that could happen at any home while we were there and the host was responsive. The host is very accommodating and will let you know of home procedures as well as local suggestions. Our family had a good time together on our vacation here.

For Handicapped adults many steps to navigate in the home, but doable. Great kitchen for multiple cooks to share in preparation & clean up. Great appliances. Enough dinnerware & silverware to serve twice as many lodgers. But strangely only 6 teaspoons.
