Miller Beach Getaway!

Stayed with family on our yearly get together. Plenty of room for the 7 of us. The place is very clean and what you see in the pictures is what we actually got which was nice. Attentive host, great you can walk to the beach, and plenty of space to relax and chill. Would stay again.

It was our 4th or 5th year at Miller beach area and loved as we did in previous times. First time at this house and we really liked. Good location (close to the beach), the house was very comfortable, with plenty of space. We were a combination of adults, kids and one dog.

Nice home for our group of 6 adults and 5 children ages 15 to 3. We enjoyed the backyard fire pit for s’mores, walked to the beach every day, made 2 trips to Chicago, did the 3 dune challenge and the Diana of the Dunes Dare at the Indiana Dunes. A full week …Thank you for sharing your home

The house had a lot of room and the beds were comfy. We had a group of 5 adults. However, we were all uncomfortable with the lack of window coverings, especially in the master bedroom and bathroom. Standing in the shower and being able to see the neighbor's windows was strange. It was also quite bright in the mornings because there were no blinds. Kitchen was a nice size, but the pans were in really bad shape. I also got a bad burn on my hand because the potholder had a large hole in it, which I didn't know until it was too late. House was a good location for going to Indiana Dunes parks. There's also a nice disc golf course close by.

This property was perfect for our large group. We were a group of 4 adults and 8 children aged 5-15. The littlest two kids slept on camping mats on the floor of a parent’s room, which we knew would work well for that family. Everyone else had beds. Three full baths were wonderful for our group size, though the downstairs bath (and washing machine) only had hot water, so those showers were steaming hot. The hot tub and backyard were fun. Lots of indoor dining space between the oversized table and eat-at kitchen island, plus outdoor table on the back deck. We were delighted to discover a piano! We are a musical bunch and played it every day. Two recreation areas added to all the space: a lower level and a basement. Quiet neighborhood. Super close to the beach and dunes. We also spent a day in Chicago. Our stay was wonderful. If you want to boil a large pot of water for pasta, consider bringing your own pot, as there are only sauce pans. (We made them work!) Also, consider bringing a supply of consumable products (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, kitchen trash bags). There were some, but not much. Walmart is only 20 min away.

Great central location for getting to the various sports complexes our kids played at. Two families (4 adults and 5 teens) for very comfortably. Lots of space to spread out and/or gather together for games. Kids loved ping pong and piano and grown ups loved the easy access to the lovely beach. Margaret was very friendly, accessible and accommodating. House was clean and beautifully decorated. We had a really nice stay.

From the minute we walked inside we felt right at home! It was very clean and the layout of the house is very welcoming and open. The kitchen had all the necessities to make dinner and enjoy each other with plenty of seating. The hot tub was perfect with the waterfall and lights. It was a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed the day in the sun! We will definitely rent this location again if our travels bring us back up to northern Indiana! This was a mother / daughter weekend to remember.

This home was a five minute walk from the beach and we enjoyed amazing sunsets everyday! The layout and amenities of the home were perfect for family to meet and spend time together, both indoors and out. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in yard immensely. This is the second property that we’ve rented from this host-she’s great and very responsive.

We really enjoyed our time at the house. We had the whole family (6 adults and 4 kids) and had plenty of space, and the multi-level was nice. We had a couple of small issues, but they were resolved quickly. The beach is super nice, not crazily crowded (even the holiday week) and as close as advertised. We easily walked down and back more than once most days. We used the deck and hot tub, too. Overall, a really positive experience!

The home was beautiful and a great space for our group of 10. There was lots of room to spread out and the kitchen was great and well stocked for lots of meals at the house. We loved how close it was to the beach and visited every day sometimes twice.

This house was updated, clean, & worked well for our family! Enjoyed walks, beach, parks & the dunes! Owner very responsive!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL home. Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Me and my friends had a great time chilling in different areas of the house. It felt like home!

The house was clean and full of options for fun - games, ping pong, etc. Loved the short walk to the beach even on the cold winter evenings.

We were a group (2 families) of 9 and there was more than enough space for sleeping, adults hanging out and kids having play space. Margaret was wonderful and very responsive to communication both before and during our stay. We were there for Thanksgiving so did a LOT of cooking and I have to say this was the best stocked kitchen I’ve seen in any VRBO (pots, pans, bakeware, utensils, dishes, serving bowls and plastic leftover containers). We loved the quiet neighborhood and short walk to the beach. Highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay here! The layout is really great for families, and we loved all the stylish modern finishes. Nice, quiet neighborhood, and excellent location nearby the lake and Indiana Dunes National Park.

Nice surroundings commenced the healing process. I used to live in Gary 40 years ago. Was glad to see some progress. The house is not cute on outside but ohhh the inside. Lovely!!

The rental process was very smooth. Communication between the manager was prompt and excellent. The home does not have an outside number, but was relatively easy to find. The state of the nearby homes on the street belied how wonderful the home was on the inside. If you plan on cooking in the home, make sure to bring a larger skillet. Also the microwave is a bit high and for folks that aren’t 6 feet tall - a stepstool would be a nice thing to have. There is a nice backyard area, and plenty of room to sleep and hang out if you are bringing multiple children. There are tons of games in the lowest level! There’s only one TV in the home, so if you’re planning to come and watch sports you’ll have to contend with there being only an antenna and you’ll have to make do with some of your own devices. Maybe bring your own Apple TV, or Roku from home. The walk to the beach takes less than 10 minutes, and access to Indiana dunes state and national park was very easy by car. We came in the fall and the Miller beach retail area was full of more vacant buildings than open businesses. Overall this was a great trip and the home was well adorned and very comfortable.

This property is as good as the pictures describe. Very clean and just 4 minutes walk to the beach. The owner was also very accommodating in last minute requests. We had our car towed and lost the home keys, but the owner made sure we could get the spare key, even late at midnight. Excellent place to stay and relax. Would definitely book it again if i visit. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at the Miller Beach House. The home was perfect for 6 adults and two children. Plenty of room, everything you needed for cooking, lots of room for all. And, just a short walk to a very nice beach with views of downtown Chicago. Very safe and clean neighborhood.

There were 4 of us that drove out here from down south to spend time with our 5th friend who is extremely high risk so we were looking for a remote location but still a getaway with the dunes, so chose this house to stay for our week vacation. To start things off, there is no house number or any indicator outside to know we were at the right house so we were kind of looking around as there's no pics of the outside of the home (because its not great), however once you get inside, we really liked the layout with the different levels for us to spread out. Even though it was just 5 of us and the house states it can sleep 16, I really think 3 couples (6 ppl) + children would be the most that could comfortably fit. Here's the good -- 1. Location is only 2 blocks from the beach, but the wagon can be brutal to pull on the sand so we just ditched that and started carrying our stuff. 2. This part of the beach seemed to be less crowded probably because there's no public parking allowed, so we really loved that 3. The living area is nice and spacious and so are the bedrooms. Can only speak for master - the bed was extremely comfy and huge. The bad -- 1. 98% of their cookware is so used and really needs to be replaced 2. The couches in both the TV area and the basement area are literally coming apart -- this badly needs replacement and honestly surprised that they haven't been. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the dunes!
