I liked that the property was super close to the lake. I also liked the contactless check in and the place was clean for the most part and was comfortable that came with basic necessities for cooking in the kitchen area.
I don’t like that I feel robbed of my money. This trip was planned for celebrating my birthday with my friends. I thought when booking that I had reserved the main house as those were the pictures shown and amenities listed. I was expecting a spacious house, sauna, and outside deck with a hot tub. When we arrived the whole driveway was filled with no spots for us to park. I had to already call the number listed for any questions or issues. The neighbors who actually had the main house had used all the space and had to move all their cars for us to park and that didn’t set a good first impression. When we opened up our door to our booked place we quickly realized we hadn’t paid for what we thought we were booking. The place was a guest house on the side of the main house and was very small with no outside deck, no sauna, and no hot tub. I was devastated and felt the place was not worth the money I had spent on the booking as it had no special amenities. I called the number listed for any issues and brought this up and they told me they would talk to the manager and call me back. Well it’s safe to say that I never received that call back. The next day we had to knock at the neighbors house as they had taken our spot after leaving the house for maybe an hour. The only outside area we had was a very small “deck” that could barely fit 4 people and one of the neighbors was sitting on our steps coming out to sit on our last night. It felt like we had little to no privacy and that the neighbors weren’t abiding by the house rules of what was their space and wasn’t. Overall I felt that I was scammed out of my money and nobody cared.
