If this would have been the finale of our stay in cape verde, it would have been perfect. JP's hospitality was out of this world and a big plus for the constant smile on his face (moreover if you add that we could only communicate through a translator). The location is perfect, the view from the main terrace during sunset is extraordinary. As there is not much in Sao Pedro, there are a few snacks and drinks readily available at the "reception" for a fair price, and he does also prepare sandwiches at request. (He even wanted to go in town for vegan milk and chicken to cater for our requests.) Breakfast is great, freshly prepared omlette, a nice cake, fruits and if you are lucky his own jam. :) If you want to see the turtles he can show the best spot from where they are visible. You can also rent snorkeling masks to explore the area on your own. (If you are a good swimmer, there is no need for an expensive boat excursion, but take the tides/waves seriously.) Airport is really close, but quite surprisingly the sound is not disturbing at all. JP offers transfer both to/from airport and port as well.
Not that i didn't like but good to be aware. You can only pay by cash, and there is no ATM in Sao Pedro so think ahead. If you can't speak french, you are going to communicated through a translator, which was fine for us. As already mentioned by others, private bathrooms do not necessarily mean, that they are inside the room. And if you stayed in other places in Cape Verde already, you will know that for the night you have to consider the tradeoff between oxygen and the stray dog concert.

L’endroit est tout simplement magnifique pour terminer son séjour au Cap Vert. Un petit village de pêcheurs où vous pouvez nager avec les tortues (en passant directement par un pêcheur sur la plage). La chambre Océane qui donne sur la plage et les couchers de soleil est remarquable. Le confort et la propreté sont au rendez-vous.
Les petits déjeuners sont concoctés avec beaucoup d’attention par Jean Pierre. Mention spéciale à son omelette!!
Le plus de notre séjour: un tour de l’île par Jean Pierre d’une journée qui nous a permis de voir toute l’étendue de Sao Vicente. Nous recommandons cette excursion!
Et surtout: la disponibilité et la gentillesse de Jean Pierre. C’était une très belle rencontre!
