About this villa rental
Nestled between cornfields and the Bodden in the southeastern part of the vacation island of Rügen, directly on the steep cliffs of the Baltic Sea, lies the Baltic Sea resort of Göhren. It is the southernmost of the four Baltic Sea resorts: Binz, Sellin, Baabe, and Göhren.
Villa Erika was built in 1891 on the high cliffs of Göhren by the Wolgaster Aktiengesellschaft on behalf of the imperial personal physician, Dr. Hase. It is what is known as a “Wolgasthaus.”
From the very beginning, Villa Erika served as a vacation home and summer residence.
Over the course of its history, it was used as a vacation residence and later as a guesthouse.
The house underwent a sensitive restoration in 2016–2019, with the aim of restoring the historic character of the villa as a historic landmark.
The upper floors feature five double bedrooms, three of which have terraces facing south, east, and west. There are four bathrooms with showers.
The bedrooms, which span two floors, are connected by the central staircase, whose walls are entirely clad in wood.
On the first floor, next to the main entrance and the coat check area, are the common areas.
With their historic pitch pine wall paneling, the smaller living room, TV room, and library showcase all the charm of the old seaside resort architecture.
The large dining room and the veranda offer a view of the Baltic Sea to the northeast through a bay window and provide access to the front area of the garden. There you’ll find a rustic sauna wagon that guests are welcome to use.
Next to the sauna wagon is a small outbuilding housing the washing machine and an additional restroom.
Also on the first floor is the large kitchen with seating and a view of the very large garden. There, you can enjoy the mature trees—ginkgo, yew, and weeping beech—and relax in the hammock or on the lounge chairs.
The house accommodates 10 guests.
The security deposit serves as a guarantee and to cover utility costs for gas—the final bill and refund of the remaining deposit will be processed within 14 to 21 business days after departure—please provide your bank account information on the provided form upon departure.
