Pondok Biu where are you ?

As hosts Ketut & Rosita were brilliant. Only stayed one night but they came at 5am to ensure we got breakfast - Eggs poached & scrambled perfectly. Arranged a driver for us to get back to airport (as the Grab car we got on the way there couldn't find it). Locals especially kids very friendly.

2nd bed in loft was not a proper mattress & not made up to use. Odd location but a short walk to a supermarket etc thanks to Google maps. Kitchen listed was outside small galley undercover but open, I don't think it was intended for guests. Sml dog tied up on short lead for the whole time we were there (very sad, no grassed area) he is apparently let off when there are no guests

The house is lovely inside, and still feels private but with lots of natural light through the windows. It is in a quiet area off the main roads of Denpasar, surrounded by rice paddies and the houses of local people. It’s so nice to have a little garden and kitchen to prepare food if you want. Rosita came and cooked us an amazing breakfast every morning, we felt so blessed by her and Katut’s hospitality! The house was an ideal place to retreat after a day of Denpasar busy-ness.

The only thing that was a little inconvenient was that the house did not come up on maps, so it was hard for us to order food or grab motorbikes directly to the door.

All amazing - the hosts went out of their way to make my stay so memorable - really lovely all around! Thank you so much to the lovely host family - for the meals, for the care, for the beautiful place and garden - I wish you all the very best!!! Had some nice walks in the traditional neighborhood - rice fields, family and village temples, and lovely and welcoming local residents

The cottage was nice

I liked: - I had my own cottage to myself. - It was comfortable, well decorated and clean for the most part. - The hosts went out of their way to make you comfortable and offered to help with things. - It was good having a water filter out the front so didn't have to go out and buy water all the time. - Free breakfast made fresh daily.

The downsides were: - Construction right across the narrow road with a group of men hammering from early in morning to late at night. - Group of men doing construction would stare at you when entering/exiting the property, making it uncomfortable for me as a solo female traveller. - Smoke smelling like chemical fumes would fill the property on most days, making it uncomfortable to breathe. Could not get the smell out. Even with doors/windows closed this smell filled the cottage. - Location was in a village not near shops/restaurants. No other tourists. When you walk through the village to get out to the main roads you get stared at by the locals and chased/barked at by the street dogs. - Some areas of the cottage were not completely clean such as the toilet seat had a disgusting stain on it, the shower head was dirty. - The gate padlock was hard to get unlocked. - Grab and Gojek drivers struggled to find the property as it was not in the same location on the app as listed on Google Maps, had issues with multiple drivers not being able to find the property. Also, one of the entrances into the village has a bridge over the river only large enough for a bike, so cars could not enter in from one direction, I had to be dropped off a distance away from the property as drivers could not get in.

Beautiful traditional stay and lovely people

The owners were lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was extremely comfortable we both had an amazing sleep.

We only stayed for one night and thus didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area. We missed the owners the first night due to arriving late!

Loved my stay!

I just have to start off by saying that Rosita's cooking is amazing! She made me breakfast and lunch and it was so good!! I felt so welcome and everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The room is as pretty as the pictures. 10/10 would recommend!!

Beautiful cabins in beautiful mountains by a beautiful family

Perfect place to relax. Run be a beautiful kind Family which really cares about their guests. The cabins are the most cleanliest I have ever seen in Bali. The cabins are spaceaus an comfortable. You also have a nice balcony for rainy days and the breakfast was cooked every morning with love and dedication. The owner is a talented painter and you can see his artwork on a beautiful gallery on site. Sourounded by gardens in the beautiful mountains, you don't have it far to many waterfalls, gorgeous lakes and lovina with the Dolphins. Best value for the price, I had so far. Book!

The only thing I disliked is that I could not stay longer :)

Authentic experience

It's such a cute little place. The owners are lovely people. If you're looking for an authentic "old Bali" experience this is the place for you. It's in a village with not much tourist stuff going on but rather close to Sanur and the Batubulan area, which is great for authentic local culture. It's also not far from Ubud and all the attractions on that side of the island. The owners were really nice, there's an option to have dinner there as well which was home cooked and delicious.

estuvimos 3 dias en pondok biu y fueron perfectos. es una habitación pequeñita y acogedora. estaba limpia. los dueños muy amables, nos traian el desayuno que estaba muy bueno y nos ayudaban en todo lo que necesitábamos. lo recomiendo 100%! gracias por todo!

Maison très bien agencée, jolie Pas de plafond, impression d'espace Hôtes particulièrement sympathiques, prêts à se mettre en quatre pour votre séjour. Le bruit !!! Pas de chance nous sommes arrivés en plein travaux de construction d'une bâtisse contiguë au home stay, Et ils en sont au gros œuvre. Et ils commencent à 8 heures le matin ! De plus et je dirais que c'est le plus ennuyeux, la nuit foultitude de chiens ne cessent d'aboyer, s'arrêter, reprendre et ainsi de suite Pfffffffff pas terribles tout de même les nuits passées. Maintenant si vous avez le sommeil lourd et/ou des boules Quies ...

Deux derniers jours à Bali : nous nous sommes sentis chez nous et avons pu nous reposer.

Nous sommes arrivés avec beaucoup de retard, à 1h du matin. Nos hôtes, prévenus, nous attendaient avec le sourire et un jus de fruit d'accueil! Rosita confectionne de merveilleux petits déjeuners, ou repas à la demande. Ce sont des gens vraiment formidables, à la générosité sincère. Très beaux équipements et calme parfait.

Emplacement un peu difficile à trouver pour les chauffeurs, mais finalement très proche (400 m) du boulevard de ceinture de Denpasar, donc pratique au final.

Die pure Entspannung und Natur. Bestes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in Bali. Meine Lieblingsunterkunft

Ich bin 2 Monate auf Bali gereist und hier habe ich mich am wohlsten gefühlt! Super idyllische Lage in den Bergen. Die ganze Anlage ist von Gärten und Plantagen umgeben und ich habe mich sofort entspannt und erholt gefühlt. Der perfekte Ort zum entspannen, arbeiten und die Hektik der Stadt zu vergessen. Die Villas sind wunderschön aus behandeltem Holz gebaut, perfekt aufgeteilt und komplett dicht, sodass man keine Insekten innen hatte. Ich habe selten so saubere und gut gepflegte Unterkünfte erlebt. Der Ort wird von einer tollen Familie geleitet die noch alles selbst machen und sie haben sich toll um mich gekümmert. Immer freundlich, immer hilfsbereit und das Frühstück war jeden Morgen toll und ich habe mich darauf gefreut. Der Herr des Hauses ist ein netter Auswanderer und Künstler der Bilder malt, die man in einer offenen Galerie vor Ort anschauen kann. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt direkt verlängert und habe schon meinen nächsten gebucht. Wenn ihr nach Ruhe und Natur sucht, sucht nicht weiter und bucht eine Villa hier. Bestes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis auf ganz Bali!

Das einzige was mir nicht gefallen hat, ist das ich nicht noch länger bleiben konnte ;) Außerdem muss man wissen, dass Gojek und Grab dort nicht verfügbar ist, aber die nette Familie hat mich zurück in die Zivilisation gebracht.

Geschmacksvoll und rundum sehr angenehm :)

Alles :) Gastgeber waren einsame Spitze und sehr hilfsbereit, wie es um das Thema Restaurants und von A nach B kommen ging. Unterkunft ebenfalls spitze und ausgesprochen geschmacksvoll ausgestattet mit einem, mit Liebe zum Detail aufgemachten kleinen Innenhof :)

Würde gerne 11/10 geben

Diese Unterkunft ist der Wahnsinn und ich habe selten so zuvorkommende Menschen getroffen. Ich bin spät abends angekommen und ich wurde sofort gefragt, ob ich schon was gegessen habe und die Frau ist sofort einkaufen gefahren und hat mir ein frisches Abendessen gemacht, auch die weiteren Tage wurde ich mit allerlei Köstlichkeiten versorgt. Am zweiten Tag hatten sie eine Familien Zeremonie zu der ich ebenfalls eingeladen war und sie haben mir einen wunderbaren Tag gegeben in dem ich viel kennenlernen konnte und gesehen habe. Im Anschluss an die Festivität sind wir dann noch auf deren Kosten essen gegangen weil sie mir ein bestimmtes Gericht zeigen wollten. Insgesamt sehr fürsorglich und immer am Wohl von mir orientiert.

Es hat schon vor Anreise prima mit der Kommunikation betreffend meiner Ankunft geklappt. Durch meine Gastgeberfamilie wurde auch ein sehr guter Taxifahrer zum Flughafen geschickt, der mich auch schon im vorne rein per WA kontaktiert hatte, um nicht lange nach ihm Ausschau zu halten. Dieser, wie auch die Gastgeberfamilie sprechen ein gutes Englisch, so dass eine Verständigung unkompliziert war. Der Taxifahrer wurde weiterhin während meines Urlaubes bei Fahrten kontaktiert und diese verliefen pünktlich, preiswert und sehr sicher. Meine Gastgeber haben zum Frühstück immer sehr gut aufgetafelt und sind auf meine Bedürfnisse sehr eingegangen. Ich habe mich, wie ein Familienmitglied aufgenommen gefühlt und der Abschied fiel schwer. Kurzum ein spitzen Aufenthalt. Wer Denpasar ruhiger, grüner mit Landidyll und in einem original Bali-Holzhaus verbringen möchte ist im Pondok Biu genau richtig. Die Sonnenuntergänge auf der Terrace habe ich jeden Abend genossen, wo ich anwesend war. Ein kleiner Garten auf dem Grundstück und die Reisfelder außerhalb, runden das Bild ab.

Gab es nicht, im Gegenteil, es wurde von meiner Gastgeberfamilie selbstständig gefragt, was verbesserungswürdig ist.
