Good Value family hotel

A quiet location about 20 minutes away from Ubud by car. Room was comfortable and clean with a seating area outside. It’s a small family run hotel who really care about their customer’s happiness and comfort. We would stay again.

The breakfast was delicious and fresh, but only 4 options to choose from.

We spent a wonderful 15 days here

We spent a wonderful 15 days here. The accommodation was clean, the breakfasts were delicious, and we really appreciated the water dispenser in the shared kitchen. Don’t expect a 5-star hotel, but you can look forward to a warm and friendly atmosphere that lets you experience a true piece of Bali. It’s a place you’ll be happy to return to after a full day of exploring. We genuinely felt at home here. Within walking distance, you’ll find two beautiful waterfalls, plenty of excellent local warungs, and the amazing Candra Spa – highly recommended! 😊 One small tip: be sure to read the room manual – it contains lots of useful information, including the possibility to rent a motorbike or book a full-day taxi.

Nice friendly staff. Gus the owner was great on arrival and the workers around the place were always friendly Clean and nice size rooms with massive beds A/c was fantastic Pool was nice around the rooms Easy to get grab or go jek from the apartments Lovely stay for a very reasonable price too.

Even though it’s not far from Ubud.. 6.0km The traffic can be very busy so go in early and comeback earlier.

Great stay! I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. An added bonus was the convenient laundry service offered by the hotel. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying again. Good wifi.

Comfortable, price, big bed, not so much insects noise at level 2, near to attractions

The decor of the room was fantastic, I particularly like the Asian teak furniture and bed. The swimming pool is fantastic, very stylish, all tiles in solid stone in and around the pool. Good size pool, very clean and clear

Great Hosts

Dewi and Bagus are great hosts who really looked after all our needs. They sorted all our transport including the scooter rental. Good swimming pool and overall, good value for money.

Amazing place.

Our stay at green papaya was amazing. Quiet, peaceful, pleasant, you will be served with standard breakfast which they ensured its arrived on your requested time. The people are so polite and helpful. I have a 4 year old son where a couple of times they helped in cooking food for us. Also when travelling with kids I prefer a homestay as you get a kitchen which served the purpose for me here.

The most amazing owners and a wonderful hotel.

Green Papaya is a gorgeous home stay on the outskirts of Ubud town. It was the most gorgeous property which was made even more special by the owners. We can’t even begin to explain how kind and accommodating they were and made us feel like it was our home. The breakfast options in the morning were delicious and were made to order at times specified by us the night before. The rooms were cleaned everyday and a kitchen was available to use if we needed it. Thank you for an amazing time! We hope to return one day as it was one of our favourite places in Asia!

We felt very well taken care of!

I honestly loved my stay at the green papaya hotel, particularly the incredible care of the owners and all of the staff. For three weeks, we felt like part of the family! For me, the trip was a combination of working from home and discovering Ubud, and the hotel was the perfect place from which to do both. The home is located just a scooter ride away from the centre (hereby allowing me to go in whenever I wanted to but without living in the bussyness of Ubud) as well as within walking distance of several other attractions (three different waterfalls and a small coffee plantation). Wifi was fairly good (I had no problems during any of my work calls), breakfasts were exceptional, and the vibe of the place was the perfect way to recharge. Thanks so much for an amazing time!

If I had to point out one thing, I would say the kitchen wasn't the cleanest. However, this is quite expected because it's shared between the guests and it's outdoors! Other than that, it had everything we needed.

The place is amazing. The owners of the place are great people! I extended my stay here, and will be happy to come back again :) All the staff is very attentive and nice. Everything is clean, including the pool. Wifi works good, it was important to me, as I worked remotely. I travel a lot, and leaving reviews not that often, but can definitely recommend this homestay. It got this “home” vibe that keeps attracting you to come back :)

I had the most perfect stay at Green Papaya. The staff are so kind and welcoming and the room was comfortable and very clean. I had a delicious pancake for breakfast and was even made a coffee whilst waiting for my taxi, so lovely! Thank you ❤️ I hope I can come back one day!

Not as expected

Owner/host is very nice and welcoming. The hotel is quiet, no noise from street, etc. The garden and the pool area is nice and well maintained. The place is easy to find with Google Maps. Room size is good.

Even though the rooms were ok from size and facilities point of view, the cleanliness and the quality was way below my expectations (based on the place's 9+ review average). The bathroom was in disappointing condition: cracked tiles, rust, old paint on the wall and ceiling, musty drier/hanger, had no hot water in one out of the two bathrooms (we booked two rooms), asked for maintenance - was never fixed/no response... Breakfast was ok, but prepared very slowly even though only the three of us were in the hotel.

Spacious room with a comfortable bed. We didn't use the swimming pool but it looked clean and was big. Good breakfast pancakes. They rent scooters at a good price!

Location is a bit far from the ubud centre, about 20min scooter ride. Breakfast could be improved as for us, it had few options (pancakes, omelette and nasi/mie goreng).
