About this villa rental
Vila Boa Vista is a stylish property in a quiet and safe area, just 12 minutes’ walk from the famous Lavradores Market. This three-floor home features a private garage for 3 cars, an outdoor garden with tropical plants, fruit trees, and herbs for cooking. Enjoy incredible views over Funchal’s harbour, four bedrooms, a loft open-space, and additional sofa beds, accommodating up to 9 people.
The spacious first floor includes a comfortable living room with two sofas (one a large sofa-bed) and a dining area. The modern kitchen offers two spaces for quick meals and a laundry area with access to the outdoor dining area. Adjacent is a TV room with a 65” TV, sofa bed, garden access, and a bathroom with shower.
On the second floor, the master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, private bathroom with bathtub, and a balcony with harbour views. The second bedroom features 2 single beds, a sofa bed, balcony, and a private bathroom with shower and WC across the corridor. The third bedroom has a double bed, private WC with shower, and a garden view.
The loft open-space is a large, flexible area with 2 sofa beds, leisure and work zones, its own WC, and access to a rooftop balcony with a relaxation area and superb city views—perfect for watching New Year fireworks.
The garden surrounds the house, offering an elevated area with aromatic herbs and tropical fruit trees. Relax in the hammock between the fig and mango trees.
Located in the charming Santa Maria Maior district, the property is ideal for large families or groups of friends. High-speed fibre Wi-Fi is available throughout. The secured garage fits 3 cars, motorbikes, or bicycles.
AREA
Property located on the historic Rua Conde Carvalhal with its magnificent historic residential mansions, close to the Miradouro da Vila Guida. It is 5 minutes walk from the old historical part of the Funchal city plus the trendy Barreirinha area and bathing complex and 12 minutes walk from the Funchal’s centre. If you choose to go to the Funchal’s centre, take the opportunity to explore the city, visit the Lavradores Market, taste the Madeiran gastronomy in the typical restaurants. The bus stop in front of the property takes you directly to Monte, The Botanical Garden and several levada walks. Look for more information about all kinds of activities that you can do during your holidays: cultural activities, radical activities, activities linked to nature... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
PROPERTY RULES
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules.
• Smoking is not permitted inside the property. A fine of €300 will be charged for non-compliance.
• Parties or events are not permitted.
• Pets are not permitted.
• Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night.
The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature levels, solely for safety reasons. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. Should abnormal levels be detected, a member of our team may contact you. You are not permitted to disable, cover or tamper this or any other equipment installed on the property.
In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration purposes.
Municipal tourist tax (when applicable):
€2.00 per person/night for guests aged 13 and above, up to a maximum of 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay). A payment link will be sent prior to arrival.
Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If it is not arranged at least 48 hours beforehand, check-in will be subject to our team’s availability.
Check-in: from 16:00 | Check-out: by 10:00
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and an additional charge.

OTHER NOTES
All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide, free of charge, a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath upon request before check-in. Requests made less than 48 hours before arrival may be subject to an additional fee. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket.
For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays. Additional cleaning services during your stay are available on request at an extra charge.

Great location within a 15-20 minute walk to town depending on where you are going. Let's face it, everywhere in Madeira requires an uphill walk back to somewhere and this one isn't bad...however, I do really need to point out the 45 degree short road up to the driveway to this home which can't be seen from Google Maps. 60 foot walk up, maybe? This one caught us off guard with luggage as we had the Taxi drop us off at the bottom and on the approach, we all dreaded the walk. It's do-able but not for the faint of heart. The Uber to take us back to the airport would not drive up so we had to roll the luggage back down the hill on departure. At the very bottom is immediate busy road so you need to roll your luggage to nearby driveway to catch your Taxi etc. Again, knowing this helps and shouldn't deter you from booking as the house is great. That is the only reason for the 4 stars.
The home is spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. The house and area is very quiet so if you need white noise, there are fans in each room. All the amenities you need.

A good villa, an easy walk ( down!) to Funchal Old Town, it was clean and comfy.

The rugs were not safe….they easily slid across the wooden floors. Although the upper deck had a spectacular view , there was very limited view otherwise. The kitchen was poorly supplied. The few glasses , both wine and other, were discolored with a thick white film? I tried to call the manager twice when we could not find the appliance manual for the oven and he never returned call. The instructions provided said the appliance manuals were in a drawer in the kitchen. The following day we found them on an elevated shelf . Overall okay, but definitely not up to par with the many homes I have rented in Madeira over the past 10 years. Particularly at the price
