About this villa rental
Featuring a superb large heated indoor pool and amazing leisure and games room, Vila Luzia is furnished to an exceptionally high standard, and attention to detail is evident everywhere. From Duresta sofas to Carpe Diem beds (as used by the Swedish Royal Family) supreme comfort is assured throughout and makes this one of the most luxurious villas in Madeira, with the added bonus that it is one of the few villas in Funchal that allows you to walk into town.
The open-plan air conditioned lounge/dining is vast (12,5m X 5,7m) and offers two ample seating areas and an elegant dining table. French windows lead onto the garden and front terrace. Featured in a corner is a large flat screen TV with cable channels, surround sound system and DVD.
The kitchen is large, contemporary and very well equipped, with 4-ring electric hob, built-in electric oven, dishwasher, double-door American style fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker and juicer. A breakfast table benefits from the views to the hills and ocean through the French doors that lead to the front terrace. A flat screen cable TV allows you to keep up with the news at breakfast time.
A separate barbecue room features a bread oven, traditional Madeira barbecue for grilling espetada and electric hob and sink.
The whole of the lower floor is an amazing social and leisure area. Table tennis, table football and a pool table are complemented by a variety of table games (poker, mah-jong, rummycub, and children's games) and features an outstanding middle-east inlaid table for backgammon, chess and draughts. A seating corner with a large flat-screen TV with CD player (a variety of music is available) is served by a fully equipped bar. It leads to the steps that access the indoor pool and a visitor's toilet.
A large office with desk and meeting table can be found off the leisure area, a great solution for those needing to deal with business whilst on holiday.
The air conditioned bedrooms are all beautifully furnished; four are on the first floor (three with en-suite bathrooms) along with a family shower room. The Master bedroom is very spacious and features a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Both this and the second bedroom have private balconies with those superb views.
The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor, suitable for those with limited mobility and has an adjoining shower room.
All beds are Carpe Diem king-sized doubles with conjoined single mattresses, guaranteeing the greatest comfort.
The heated pool is nothing short of spectacular. Very large at 8,5m X 5,5m it is an interior pool with large glass panes that open up to the garden and view, perfect for both summer and winter, surrounded by easy chairs and sunbeds. There are changing/shower rooms and toilet facilities available.
Sunbeds are provided for the garden and front terrace.

Garden furniture includes sun-beds, and two large dining tables with a capacity for 12 people, perfect for alfresco family meals, and tables and chairs for reading or for those sunset evening cocktails.

We booked Villa Luzia for a significant family birthday celebration in Madeira. The villa was excellent all round! Located a short walk from central Funchal was a really plus. The facilities at the villa were excellent; the outside areas were fabulous and the pool and games room were a big hit with everyone. I would highly recommend Villa Luzia to anyone looking for an exceptional property in Funchal.

This was our third time in Madeira and we stayed in different houses. This time for the first time in Funchal and so close to the center. I have to say, Villa Luzia is perfectly located. Close to the Center and in a very nice and quiet location. Ok, the dogs sometimes or the birds, parrot in the neighborhood......but hey, what about some of the neighbors at your place, house, neighborhood?
We slept well and already miss the house. It was clean, it's big, it has everything and more. You feel like at home. It's just a few minutes' drive down to the harbor, shops, restaurant, you can also walk down, you can also go back by walk, if you like gradients :-) or take a taxi. We thought it was great and can only recommend it. The team at Our Madeira is really top. Thank you all!
Can't wait to go back to Madeira.

A fabulous villa with great facilities for children and adults.
Large comfortable bedrooms , lovely lounge
Heated indoor swimming pool and we’ll equipped games room
Took us 20 mins to walk into the heart of Funchal.
Taxis reasonable to get back up the hill. Plenty of private parking for the car we hired. Would definitely book again

Lots of space inside and out. Especially loved the views, the games room and the swimming pool (although a little bit cool). All rooms well presented and comfortable (beds much too soft for me). Outside furniture of which there is plenty good quality and very comfortable. We didnt use the kitchen but it was equipped exceptionally well.
