A lovely stay and we will definitely return.

Lovely apartment, good size with comfortable amenities

Excellent location and convenient to stores and local parking. Excellent communication from Mark (owner).

Only one thing to improve is the advertised sofa bed. It’s a single camp bed and extremely soft but this won’t put me off staying again

Perfect place to explore the area

Spacious, decent size lounge and bedroom, modern shower and adequate kitchen facilities for a short stay. We were a couple but could accommodate 4 people.

Perhaps clarify that key safe for the main entrance is on the side street to the bakery and not on the main road.

A little gem

The owners were so obliging and assisted us with our travel. The location was ideal for us. Close to Durham, Beamish and not too far from Hadrians wall.

Pretty much 10/10 stay.

Fabulous apartment in a great location for a wedding we were attending nearby. Rooms are spacious and clean and tidy. Bread, Butter, Milk, cereal, plus beer and wine in the fridges if you wanted it. Free parking 100 yards away, and a few nice shops nearby, cafe, chippy and convenience stores on your doorstep. Highly recommended!

Lovely clean spacious apartment

Lovely clean apartment and very conveniently for our purposes. Nearby road parking feee of charge. Large rooms and a really helpful starter pack included with milk, bread, butter and tea cakes. Tesco over the road and a lovely bakery downstairs for breakfast. Excellent value for money and booked for two more visits.

Bed is a bit small for us as we’ve recently bought a super king. Couldn’t get WiFi to work but used my mobile data so not a great issue.

Brilliant host & great location - highly recommended even for a longer stay!

Excellent location for our needs and generally a very well fitted out and equipped property. The bathroom was modern as was the kitchen and there was even a fan provided - very welcome in the hot days whilst we were staying there. The bus stop is literally out the front and the X45 will get to into Consett or Newcastle directly. Tesco Express is across the road and plenty of nearby food options. The apartment was clean and had pretty much everything you need - and we stayed for around 2 weeks.

We struggled a little with only a double bed which is just too small - queen size or larger is pretty much standard anywhere else. It made sleeping a little difficult because my legs were off the end of the bed and if either of us moved during the night we nearly knocked each other out of bed. A 'nice to have' would be a washing machine since we were there on an extended stay from overseas as there are no nearby laundry options. However the host did regularly arrange to change provided bed linen and towels. When we did get our hire car there is no on site parking we were aware of but found a spot on a nearby residential street.

I just wanted somewhere to sleep for a couple of nights near Consett and this property exceeded my needs. I had an issue

Great location for getting to places I wanted to go to like Consett. Plus I was able to meet up with some relatives downstairs in the bistro for coffee & breakfast the first morning of my stay which was great.

There are different floor levels throughout which could have been problematic but most had been taped to be highlighted.

Lovely stay in a spacious, modern, well equipped flat in a beautiful part of the country.

Spacious, modern, well equipped flat. Really comfy bed and couches, very good shower and everything you need in the kitchen. Plenty of amenities on the doorstep. Short walk (mostly) through a nice park to Consett town. Short drive to Durham, Corbridge, Hexham and Newcastle. Absolutely perfect for my needs.

Excellent all round accommodation

The flat itself was very tastefully furnished and everything that we needed was there. You really could not fault it in any way Mark was an excellent host, but an incredible added bonus was the cafe/bakery on the ground floor. We had delicious cakes and bread and a super lunch on the Saturday. Not only was the food delicious (thank you Mark) but thre staff were an absolute credit in terms of helpfulness, local knowledge and a willingness to provide good service. Shotley Bridge itself is a good centre for walking and we used it as a base to explore Bishop Auckland and Durham.
