Bra!

This hostel did the job as a safe, clean place to sleep for the night but I wouldn’t book again based on the vibe. It had a quiet, clinical atmosphere like purgatory that made it feel weird to talk to other people. The common areas were sort of spread out and fragmented, and the main area to spend time outside your room had the air of a very quiet airport gate, with spread out seating and fluorescent lights. They also have you make your own bed (in my case an upper bunkbed) which was unfortunate because I got in at 1am and others were already asleep in my room. Might be worth it if you’re going to save a lot of money.

Good large hostel, close to the station. Clean, airy building, lots of space. Good size bunks.

staff was extremely unfriendly, except one woman who was on the younger side. the lobby is way nicer than the actual rooms. there are no curtains or fans within the room. the location of the hostel is also not great for the money. the hostel was $20 usd more expensive than the nicer hostel that i stayed in during my stay in paris. the vending machines only really have candy, which is unhelpful for late nights or early mornings. overall, i would say it was mediocre at best and would not necessarily recommend.

My friend and I had a lovely 2-night stay at Geneva Hostel. The rooms were clean, the toilets and showers were clean and had great privacy. I felt extremely comfortable staying here. The rooms were small but with the external lockers and bathroom we didn’t need any more space. Also it was 3 CHF (per person) to rent a locker for your luggage after you’ve checked out, which is a very fair price. The only note I have is the staff can be rigid at times and aren’t clear on expectations. It seemed a lot of people staying at the hostel were unclear that dirty sheets needed to be brought downstairs when checking out. Additionally, I was told you could change out your rented towel as many times as you’d like so I wanted to get a fresh towel for my second night and was sternly told this was not the case. The man gave me a new towel anyways but it was an uncomfortable interaction.

I have a problem with the local taxes, because I have payed two times, one with the reservation in Expedia and another one in the hostel. I have tried to explain the reception worker but he didnt resolve the problem, only said its impossible.

It was really nice! Staff were so friendly. Hard to meet people as most keep to themselves but good location and close to the lake!

This hostel was amazing! One of the best I have stayed id. The new room key opens all doors: locker in room, bathroom, bedroom, entrance- all in one- loved it! The location is perfect. Staff is super friendly. Beds and bathroom are super clean and comfy.

This was my 1st stay in a hostel in 33 years and I was very impressed with the facilities, the helpfulness of the staff and the quality of everything in our room and the free breakfast. We had a twin room which had the benefit of a balcony with seating and a fabulous view towards the lake. Bedding and towels were provided. My only criticism of the whole experience would be that the room was quite hot, although a helpful large fan was provided. I would certainly recommend the hostel, the staff and the free transport card to anyone wanting to stay in Geneva and not spend a fortune (this looked much nicer than more expensive but very basic hotel rooms).

Great and easy stay.

I stayed at this hostel in Geneva for two nights, and overall, it was a positive experience. The room was clean, and the price included a simple but good buffet breakfast, as well as a free public transport pass that you can start using from the moment you arrive at the airport until the end of your stay—definitely a nice perk. The location is excellent—very close to the main train station and the FlixBus stop, which was super convenient for me. The hostel also offers plenty of common areas where you can study, relax, or hang out before heading out or winding down at night. One thing to note: towels are not included in the price. You can rent one for 13 CHF (Swiss Francs)—10 CHF is a refundable deposit and 3 CHF is the rental fee. If you’ve forgotten anything, like toothpaste or earplugs, you can purchase it at the hostel, which is helpful. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The hostel doesn’t seem to enforce a quiet time, and during my stay, a school group was making noise on my floor around midnight and even again at 3 AM. I believe it would really help if a quiet time policy—say from 9 PM to 6 or 7 AM—were implemented and clearly communicated during check-in and when booking online. Also, the Wi-Fi was a bit too slow for my needs. Despite these issues, I had a good stay and would still consider returning if I ever visit Geneva again.

The location and overall condition were good but they could use more showers and bathrooms. Additionally, the breakfast is somewhat limited but is adequate. I was going to have dinner there one night but there were literally about 100 teenagers for an event and the chaperones had them start lining up for dinner at the same time as I was entering so I took a pass.

Stayed here solo for 2 nights whilst travelling Switzerland. It’s a 5 minute walk to the lake but maybe 20 to the more central part. Location was fab 5 minute walk to bus stop. Kitchen/toilets were great & clean. Bedrooms were outdated but for the price especially including breakfast can’t complain.

Amazing hostel in Geneva, I was a little skeptical as everywhere I looked for a place to stay in Geneva was really expensive and I ended up going for this hostel and I’m so glad I did. The area was perfect a short and very scenic walk by the river to the old town and close to the bus stop that can take you to and from the airport. The staff were a highlight in this hostel, especially the gentleman on reception (I sadly did not catch his name) who seen I had sunburn on my face on the last night of my stay and gave me some of his own cream for the night, he is a credit to the team and went above and beyond. The breakfast was decent and they also had food on an evening in the restaurant available to purchase and pasta available at reception 24/7. The beds were comfortable the only issue I had was the mattress protector on my bed was very loud making crinkle noises every time I moved but I think this was only my bed as I didn’t hear anyone else’s! Other than that it was very comfortable and everyone in the hostel was friendly. I would love to see some activities hosted there for solo travellers to meet others this would be a great addition. All in all I would definitely recommend this hostel and can’t wait to stay here again!
