We enjoyed our one night stay in this historic pub, with free off street parking. Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint. The room was small, but comfortable with a private bathroom with shower, along with complimentary tea and coffee. Would recommend this Inn for exploring this historic area of East Sussex.

EXCEPTIONAL ALL AROUND!!!
We stayed at the Chequers Inn for 3 nights and this stay was truly my favorite part of our trip. Sue was absolutely lovely. So kind and helpful with questions and wonderful customer service. The Inn itself was full of history, which I loved. And the rooms were VERY clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the turn down service every day for the room was great! Fresh towels every day as well.
THE FOOD!!! The food was incredible! My family, that stayed elsewhere, ate breakfast here every morning because it was so good. We also had a couple dinners here as well. You can’t go wrong with any of the food for any meal. I’m STILL thinking about this food and would love to go back and have more. The Avocado, Gnocchi and the Fish Stew were all amazing. 10/10 would recommend this place for everything it has to offer, including the location and proximity to everything in town. Everything is a short walk. Give this place a shot. You won’t regret it!
