The front desk staff was OK as was staff at breakfast. Where it all went wrong was the room. The shower itself was blocked so did not drain water. After very short time in the shower, the tray filled up. Man came to unlock it by pouring highly toxic, corrosive, chemical down drain, saying don't use for 10 mins. Room became almost unbreathable so told to close door and let the ventilation suck out the offensive odour. However, ventillatiom in the small bathroom was working, he said it was and we just couldn't hear it as it was big system down in basement. I held sheet of toilet roll to vent, no sign of movement, so 100% obvious this was not working. We asked for different room, told none was available, hotel was full. At breakfast next morning, only saw two other people, so not obvious this was the case. Also, shower gel/shampoo provided for two was 2*20ml,, not enough for two people. Vicinity of the hotel seemed very unwelcoming, three guys sitting on the step outside smoking late in the evening when we came back to the hotel, incl. one who "fixed" our shower, not an area I would want to come with children.

This is a HOSTEL not a hotel.We arrived mid afternoon to be told that some rooms had be flooded and that the only remaining room was a spare room. We looked and usually I would have said no but it was too late to find other accommodation. So we agreed to stay even though we had to use a shared shower room. We parked the car in the underground car park and then walked into town for the afternoon & evening. We got back to the hotel to see a man coming out of the shower, even though the shower was still running. 20 minutes later a 2nd person left the shower room thus we could now use the facilities, which were sparse (nothing there), toilet paper, towels etc were in your own room. I had a shower and got into a single bed (different height to partners bed) and tried to sleep but it must have been +40DegC. Then someone started to go in and out of the shower room to vomit on dozens of occasions with no attempt to clean up, so using the toilet was out of the question. At 01:00 I gave up trying to sleep and made a complaint, only to be told they were fully booked and knew nothing of the flood and we could go if we wanted. So we left. My fiancée phoned the following day and was informed that she was a whore using it for short time tricks. Eventually they agreed to refund us but no luck there.
