Novotel Kochi Infopark

Had a wonderful stay at Novotel Kochi Infopark. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast had a great variety and everything was delicious. The ambience was peaceful and the facilities, especially the pool and gym, were excellent. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel and come back again.

⭐ A Reminder to the Management – A 5-Star Property Should Deliver 5-Star Hospitality I am writing this review not simply as a complaint, but as a genuine reminder to the management. I am a tour operator and the owner of a travel company, which I have been running since 2020. Through our business, I have had the opportunity to work with and stay at numerous hotels and resorts across different destinations and categories. We regularly deal with properties ranging from standard hotels to luxury and 5-star properties, so we have a reasonable understanding of the hospitality standards expected at different levels. In all these years, this is honestly one of the first occasions where we have had such a negative experience from a property claiming to be 5-star. In several aspects, the experience we received did not even feel comparable to the level of service we have experienced at many ordinary hotels with lower star categories. That is why I feel compelled to bring these points to the attention of the management—not with the intention of simply giving a negative review, but because I genuinely believe there is a serious gap between the 5-star positioning of the property and the actual guest experience. Mistakes and negligence can happen because we are all human. What matters in hospitality is how quickly the management responds, takes responsibility and corrects the issue. Unfortunately, during our stay, the overall experience was far below what we expected from a 5-star hotel, especially from a property associated with the prestigious Accor group. 🏨 Rooms – Good, Spacious & Comfortable To start with the positives, the rooms are spacious and generally good. However, the facilities and maintenance of the property were nowhere close to the standard expected from a 5-star hotel. 🏊 Pool & Gym – Serious Maintenance Concerns The swimming pool was visibly dirty and the fencing around the pool area was broken. Unfortunately, we even got injured because of the condition of the fencing. What was more disappointing was that there was nobody available to properly address the situation or take immediate care of the guests. The gym and other facilities also appeared poorly maintained. 📞 Room Service & Telephone Service The room service and telephone response were among the biggest problems during our stay. Calls were getting disconnected without properly listening to what we were asking for. Even basic requirements required repeated calls and reminders. We requested drinking water, and despite multiple reminders, there was no timely response. We also tried ordering food and had to repeatedly follow up. For dinner, after waiting for almost two hours and making several calls, we were finally informed that the restaurant had closed. This left us with no option but to depend on outside food after waiting for two hours. This is not simply about a delayed order. It is about communication, accountability and basic hospitality. 🛏️ Triple Occupancy – No Proper Extra Bed We booked the room for triple occupancy and naturally expected proper sleeping arrangements for three guests. However, we were initially told that there was no extra bed available because they had no stock. Eventually, instead of providing an extra bed, we were given a mattress to sleep on the floor. If triple occupancy is accepted during booking, the property should have a proper SOP and inventory management system to ensure suitable sleeping arrangements. 📞 Room Telephone – Basic Functionality Issue Another unusual issue was with the room telephone. We were told that the telephone could only be used for outgoing calls and that incoming calls were not possible. At the same time, staff mentioned that they had tried calling the room, but the phone was not ringing in the room and was apparently ringing around the washroom area. These are basic operational issues that should be checked and rectified before assigning a room to a guest. 🧴 Basic Room Amenities
