Desiterra Resort & Spa

About 15 minutes from the airport we arrive at Desiterra resort, located on the east side of the island, a tranquil beautiful spot directly overlooking the sea. Stunning views of other islands of Anafi and Amorgos. The dawn sunrise is simply breathtaking my advice is get up witness it even if you have to go back to bed. The resort is a 5 minute walk along the beach to a lovely little cafe restaurant by the local harbour again amazing for sunrise. If you are a runner the roads are reasonably safe this time of year. Get that dawn run done. The resort is isolated but for us that was perfect the resort runs a shuttle bus dependent on your activities and budget it's this or a hire car. The resort will organise the hire for you but you can get better deals. We hired a car and have litterly been everywhere. We stayed in The blue monkey, (wall painting from ancient akrotiri) traditional vaulted ceiling villa tiled throughout. Air-conditioning hot and cold, walk in shower with rain shower and hand shower. The bed is situated on a mezzanine overlooking the lounge kitchen area. The kitchen is well appointed kettle coffee machine (illy iperespresso) odd pods. You can buy locally but room service give you two daily. The cleaners are meticulous in their attention to detail. Staff are fantastic Sandesh thankyou. 5 star all of the staff

We enjoyed our stay and the staff was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating, and had great suggestions on things to do in the area. Our flight arrived very early and the resort provided transportation and a complementary breakfast while we were waiting for the room to be ready. From the moment we stepped onto the property the staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. We traveled as a family, and the two bedroom villas were nice and spacious – plenty of room for a family of five. This resort is definitely outside of town, so figuring out transportation is a must- which the staff will help with if needed.

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. Our room was very clean and spacious. The outdoor patio area with pool was lovely. The food was fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sandesh and Pemba who work in the restaurant were amazing. They were alway smiling, accommodating, and very hard working! The driver for the hotel, Argyris was great! He is super friendly and funny! Everyone at the hotel made you feel like family. I hope to return to this secluded peaceful gem by the sea.

What a fantastic start to our island-hopping holiday. We spent two nights relaxing here after our flight and it ticked every box. The resort is beautiful and immaculately clean. We stayed in a Signature Villa which was well designed and spacious with a private pool which was just perfect. The staff were more than helpful and immediately attentive to our every need. Big shout out to Sandesh who looked after us so well in the bar and restaurant. He had just the right balance between friendly and professional, as had his wife and brother who are also on the exceptional team of staff. The food and breakfast and dinner was very good, as were the cocktails. All in all a ten out of ten stay that we would not hesitate to recommend.
