The Architect's Cave House

We had an absolutely amazing stay at The Architect's Cave House. We felt it was the best view of the Santorini sunset on the island. John was very accommodating, meeting us to guide us to the accommodation, providing local tips. The kitchen was perfect for making meals. Only a short walk into Oía centre where all the good restaurants and bars are located. We'll be back!

The Architects Cave House was a unique property. John greeted us when we arrived to help us find where we were staying. So glad he did. It was a little difficult navigating the area due to the layout, but once we got it down, we had no problems. The view was amazing and we loved sitting out on the terrace just looking out at the sea. The property was clean and perfect for our stay. John was very responsive to anything we needed and the breakfast was amazing! Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay. John was so helpful with making recommendations, helping us rent a car, and share highlights to visit. Although it was off season and many places were closed we still had a wonderful time. The cave apartment had everything we needed. A convenient breakfast, daily cleaning, incredible view, hot tub and excellent service. Stay here you will not regret it.

Its a very beautiful property. You can see people queue up for the sunset view while you could just sit in the balcony and watch the amazing sunset. All facilities are great and Kamila ( host) is very helpful. I would give 5 stars to this property!

Stayed for 3 nights (had two full days). My Recommendations: Get the Senior Suite instead of the Junior. Seriously. Senior wraps around the corner which is the area where the sun sets. You'll have the best view sitting at that corner. Junior suite is the left side neighbor so the people in the Senior are practically blocking their view of the sunset unless they move elsewhere. Highly recommend having the owner schedule an airport pickup. Finding this place without help while dragging around your luggage would be close to impossible for first time visitors. PROs: View -- Be prepared to say 'WOW' everytime you open your door or look out a window. View really is undescribable. And well worth it. Hospitality -- Owner helped carry luggage (a big deal once you realize what a hard walk it is getting to the place). He also sat down with us to answer any questions we had and even provided a cheap cellphone so we can get in contact with him if needed. Cleaning Sevice -- Daily cleaning service and fresh towels is a HUGE plus. Makes you feel like you aren't missing out on the hotel perks even though it's an AirBnB/VRBO. Location -- Cant get any better honestly. You're sitting in the most beautiful part of Oia. Perfect view of the sunset AND Caldera without the crowds of people. I would recommend getting to your place an hour before sunset. Any closer and you might not make it there, it gets intensely packed with people coming from all over the island to watch the sunset. Luckily you feel like a King/Queen walking passed them all and down to your private, personal balcony. Close to food and shops. Close to the hike down to the Bay (which this place also overlooks). CONS: Not close to public transit: If someone says short (15min) walk. Its not as easy as it sounds. We are in our 20's, in decent shape, and were out of breathe walking within a 5minute radius of this place. Recommend renting an ATV to travel outside of Oia instead of taking the bus or taxi. Checkout assistance: Just leave the keys and the maid will handle the rest. We had a night flight and essentially had another whole day. We requested to order a taxi to the airport around 9PM but he refused to help us because that is right around sunset time and it would be too packed/difficult. We also requested to store our bags so we can walk around town for the day but this was not allowed. We were forced to taxi early and spend the whole day at the airport. Sucked.

Excellent spot in Oia, would have appreciated a few extra ammenities such as coffee pods and toilet paper without having to ask for it especially as there is turndown services provided and condidering the price per night. The manager was very helpful in booking trips etc.

I went to The Architects Cave House for my honeymoon and we loved everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Sotiris was a super star host and gave us all the support and help we needed. The location, privacy, view and accommodations are excellent. I am looking forward to going back.
