    Very nice hotel and great location. Staff weee very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was spacious and equipped with a kettle. The bed was very comfortable. The room we stayed in could probably do either a bit of a tidy up. The pool area was clean and well equipped with chairs and loungers. The restaurant was good and the food excellent, the live music got a little loud after a while. Overall a great hotel to stay for a long weekend or longer.

    The staff were wonderful .but communication with the hotel was not that good .I sent a request to view Henri Matisse room after been told it was not available to stay in ,and then they used it ,so was not able to view .I also requested a room with a view which was not given to me

    We spent three nights in the Grand Hotel Villa de France last week and enjoyed our stay very much. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the charming and traditionally dresses Attah who enthusiastically took us up to see the room where Matisse stayed when in Tangier. Our room was spacious and had a good view of the city. The hotel couldn’t be more convenient—located just steps away from the Medina and an easy walk to the Kasbah. Even though it was not high tourist season and Ramadan began during our stay, we were treated attentively by the staff, including during an evening dinner complete with sumptuous Moroccan food, a tea server and traditional dancer! The Hotel Villa de France maintains the elegance of a bygone day with the comfort of a modern hotel. We will certainly return soon.

    Badly needs upgrading. Expensive for the condition it is currently in. A shame as it is a beautiful building with great potential.
