A lovely gem nestled near Condado, the T-Mobile District (very close), and other Miramar attractions. Given the absurdly ubiquitous resort fees now reigning in San Juan for previously routine hotel amenities, the excellent free breakfast, nice pool and convenient shuttle to Old San and Escabron Beach soften the blow. Kudos!

I came here solo for my birthday and it's been great. The staff are friendly, the hotel is in a great location, and I'm genuinely enjoying my stay.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Hyatt House. While there were a few positive aspects of my visit, the overall experience left me frustrated, misled, and feeling that I did not receive fair value for the amount I was ultimately required to pay. Before arriving, I booked my reservation through Agoda and received a confirmation showing a total cost of approximately ***. I relied on that information when planning my trip and budget. However, upon arrival at your property, I was informed that I would need to pay nearly *** in additional charges and fees. This was shocking and stressful, especially after I had already traveled to San Juan and arrived at the hotel expecting the pricing reflected on my reservation documents. To make matter's worse we reserved a room for my parents in addition to my sister booking. That's over *** in fees for a family who booked three rooms. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I had a printed copy of my reservation and fee breakdown in hand. Despite having documentation showing the expected charges, I was told that because Agoda is a third-party booking platform, the pricing displayed there was essentially irrelevant. As a customer, I found this explanation unacceptable. If there are substantial fees or charges that can nearly double the advertised cost of a stay, those costs should be clearly disclosed before a guest arrives at the property. Transparency is extremely important when customers are making travel decisions. Had I known that my actual out-of-pocket cost would exceed over ***, I may have chosen a different hotel or made different arrangements. Instead, I felt blindsided at check-in and placed in a position where I had little choice but to absorb the unexpected expense. Regarding the accommodations, I will acknowledge that the room appeared clean. However, all 3 rooms there was a persistent damp, musty odor that reminded me of mold, moisture, or excessive humidity. Combined with the very cold room temperature, the smell created an uncomfortable atmosphere that detracted from my stay. For the amount I paid, I expected a room that felt fresh and inviting, not one that smelled damp and stale. The fresh egg omletts were the best thing outside of the oatmeal. Other than that the pancakes and french toast was cold and hard. I also want to be fair in my assessment. The staff members I encountered were generally polite and professional. My dissatisfaction is not directed at them personally. My concern is with the overall guest experience, the lack of transparency regarding pricing, and the value received for the amount charged. At the end of the day, I left feeling that the hotel was significantly overpriced for what was provided. The unexpected fees, the poor disclosure of costs, and the condition of the room overshadowed any positive aspects of the stay. As a paying customer, I expect honesty and transparency regarding pricing, and unfortunately, that expectation was not met.
