Dai-ichi Takimotokan

Dai-ichi Takimotokan is a huge onsen resort and a great base for exploring Noboribetsu. The room was comfortable and reasonably sized, although the bathroom felt quite small. I suspect this is because most guests are expected to use the public baths instead. The onsen facilities were the highlight of the stay. There were multiple pools to choose from, including sulfur baths, salt baths, jet baths, as well as sauna and steam rooms. The dressing area was enormous. I visited both before and after dinner and never found it overly busy. The resort itself is like a small town, with souvenir shops, a mini mart, game rooms, restaurants, and plenty of facilities to keep guests occupied. Service was excellent. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and were very helpful in advising on bus schedules and nearby attractions. We arrived by train and took the bus from Noboribetsu Station to the onsen area (¥450 per person). As we arrived in the evening, we had a short uphill walk from the bus terminal to the hotel. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel, although service ends in the late afternoon. The breakfast buffet was decent but unremarkable. Dinner was better, with unlimited snow crab legs, ikura, sashimi, cooked dishes, two types of rice, and two soups. The variety was impressive, though the overall quality was average and the crab seemed frozen and reheated. Overall, the excellent onsen facilities, extensive amenities, and helpful staff made the stay enjoyable,.

Onsen and amenities wonderful. Room and hotel a little dated. Next to bus stop. Hell Valley just a few minutes walk away.

The hot springs were amazing. I was lucky enough to see wild deer while enjoying the outdoor bath, which made the experience even more special. There were so many facilities, including souvenir shops, a game center, karaoke bars, restaurants, and even indoor pools. We only stayed for one night, and honestly, it wasn’t enough time to fully enjoy everything this place had to offer.

Family friendly. We enjoy the buffet dinner and breakfast.
