    Upon arrival, we were told that there was a last minute mandate by the government that raised the nightly tax from what was disclosed on our booking agreement 3 euros to 10 euros a night. Clearly an attempt to charge customers extra outside of the booking agreement. Mrs. Poppy and her staff even went to the extreme of creating a fake email to show us that we owe the tax, the only problem was that we booked through booking and not Expedia which was how we knew the email was fabricated. Very dishonest owner and staff. As for the room how can you call yourself a 4 star hotel when there are literally no utensils or cookware of any kind in the kitchenettes. No tea kettle, no coffee maker, no cups,spoon.. nothing! Also we had to keep the bathroom door closed because of the nasty sewage smell. As for the location it is NOT walking distance to anywhere especially Fira. The rood is too dangerous to even attempt. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Book elsewhere!

    For the most part my stay was great. The room was ok, but the rest of the place was great. They only thing is coming from the US, after talking with other people staying there, they charged me taxes on stuff upon check in that people staying there from other countries said they did not pay.

    helpful and lovely staffs made our journey pleasant. The hotel was a bit far from main tourist attractions but there is a bus stop right in front of it. Though buses don't run that often in winter, you can walk to oia(30 minutes), where there are more buses. The room was pretty and the pool was wonderful
