Hotel Hanselewirt

I love this hotel! It is so cute and classically Bavarian. We stayed on the top floor overlooking the front of the hotel. I felt very safe here. We came to Europe for a 2 week trip and stayed in 5 different beds - this one was by far the comfiest. Plus it was a super close walk to a bakery and fantastic Biergarten. We came by rental car and they had free parking available. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan in the room and it was also perfect weather when we came so we slept with the window open. It’s a quiet enough town that outside noise was basically none. They also give you a physical key for both the room and the front door to the hotel, so you don’t have to worry about any special codes. If we ever come back to Schwangau we will definitely stay here again.

Please check your Expedia messages before you arrive.Mr. Shryger the owner of the hotel had to ride to come after 8 pm to meet me to let me in the hotel since there is no receptionist at the hotel after 6 pm. The hotel doors are secured and no way to get in unless you read the message from Mr. Shryger on how to access the hotel doors. The rooms are super clean and renovated with nice showers and the breakfast is super awesome but you have to psy 15 euros for it which is a reasonable price. The hotel is family owned not a chain owned, very quiet rooms but still we can hear next door or the people in the hall way. Mr. Shryger the hotel owner is very accommodating but was kind of not happy when i didn't read the 4 messages he sent on how to get into the hotel after 6 pm and he had to come to let me i on his day off. Sorry Mr. Shryger, Expedia never inform us there are messages and thank you for all your effort. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
