We stayed here a few years ago and were impressed with the work done to bring this magnificent building into a hotel state. Sadly a second and slightly longer stay revealed that little has progressed and the gardens in particular have an un-cared for appearance. The Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable enough and clean. Lack of local restaurants and no in hotel dining are limitations. Fine for an over-night stay to break your journey but not so great for a few days.
