The bed was old, lumpy, and soft. The breakfast was limited and aside from a few pieces of fruit, nothing was heatlhy. I will not stay here again.

I booked this hotel last minute for a solo trip to Salida/BV. The rate was awesome for what i got. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There was a soft blanket on the bed which made the room feel even cozier. I didn't get a chance to make it down for breakfast, but the staff was sure to let me know this was available! Everyone was friendly, and check in was a breeze. Parking was readily available with no issue. Couldn't have asked for a better stay-cation! Would definitely stay here again.

Brown's Canyon has found that sweet spot between the high-priced lodge and the chain motels. Reasonably priced, yet well maintained & kept up to date, Brown's is a little quirky with some extra touches not always noticed on the first stay. The other returning clients one meets here (like me) know. Conversations between guests seem to come easier here than at a chain hotel. The staff is friendly, local, caring, and helpful.

It wasn't great. Customer service wasn't great, when I asked for more pillows I was told I had enough in the room. The top sheet was wet/damp on both beds. We just took them off, didn't feel that anything would get done about it. Location was good though. I don't think we would stay again, there is so many more options.

The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a good location although there is some road/traffic noise until the town settles down for the night. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I could have used the advice they offered at check-out, when I checked-in. Overall, it was a good value for the area and I might stay at Browns Canyon Inn again providing I could be assured that I had a different room. Unfortunately, we were assigned room 101. Avoid this room unless you suffer from chronic insomnia and are planning to be awake all night anyway. This room is directly under the steps and adjacent to the lobby where breakfast is served between 7-9am. For most of the night you will hear people going up/down the steps, dragging their bags since there’s no elevator, and talking loudly in the lobby. At 6am when they begin set up for breakfast you also have the pleasure of listening to cabinets open and close, and prep materials clang alongside of the staff chatter. In the morning, we complained about how noisy it was with the front desk staff and they suggested that for our next stay, we specifically “request a room on the backside of the hotel, not adjacent to the lobby, and NOT room 101.” They offered apologies for the noise, which we appreciated, but zero concessions.

Great little place. The breakfast was nice compared to other places we have stayed. One annoying thing was the lack of electrical outlets in the room. The main outlet was behind the bed where we couldn't get to it. It this day and age of cell phones, computers and such, it would have been nice to have reachable outlets. I had to unplug the tv. However, the room was clean and comfortable.

This property is amazing. When we pulled in I thought the buildings exterior looked dated. But Karen checked us in, showed us where our room was, showed us the closest parking and access door to our room. She was very accommodating. First, every little nook is an art gallery. Wonderful mountain pieces right down to the live edge wood trim in the hallways and in the room. Our room was cleaner than any of the large chain hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast was a lite faire but it was as we expected. The entire hotel and staff was thoughtful and wonderful. The owner is on premise. Lots of art and stuff to discover inside the hotel and outside. I would definitely book it again.
