    Our stay an Lanna Thaphae was absolutely wonderful. We felt like we were in a proper boutique luxury hotel for only half the price! Everything was very clean and well kept, the beds were enormous and the rooms were cute. Staff were lovely and very helpful - they let us check in two hours early and we had to switch rooms halfway through (I booked this in advance) that went seamlessly. Would seriously recommend staying here to anyone. Location was brilliant - metres away from the old city, very near 7/11s and food shops - couldn’t ask for better!

    Perfect location easy walking and exploring…… The hotel is very clean and my room big with tons of natural light . All staff were exceptional and very helpful . Highly recommend

    Hotel is conveniently located near old town just a street across. Plenty of activites and food surrounding the hotel. A short walk from the main road into the lane away from the noise and traffic.

    ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Good location, but several avoidable frustrations The hotel has a good location, very close to Chiang Mai’s main Tha Phae Gate, which makes it convenient for sightseeing and walking around the Old City. Housekeeping was generally okay, and the room itself was clean. One nice surprise: the beds are long — I’m used to my feet hanging off the end of most hotel beds, but not here. That said, there were several issues that affected the stay: • TV: Only Thai programming is available. There are zero foreign or English-language channels, and the TV cannot connect to or stream services like Netflix, which most hotels now offer. • Breakfast: Breakfast is not served on-site. It’s at another hotel around the corner — not far, but still inconvenient, especially after paying for breakfast in advance. • Noise: My room was on the ground floor, and the hallway was noisy from both staff and guests. • Key cards: From day one, it was a daily battle to get two key cards for the room. Staff consistently resisted issuing a second card, even though my partner and I sometimes had different schedules (gym, walks, etc.). Each morning, the second card would stop working, and I had to explain — again — that we needed two cards. The response was always, “You already have one,” followed by reluctance and then eventual re-issuing. Having to deal with this every single day was frustrating enough that I would not stay here again. • Odor: There was an unpleasant sewer smell in the room, which seemed to be coming up from the shower drain. Overall, the location is good and the room was clean, but the repeated key-card issue, lack of TV options, noise, and drain odor significantly detracted from the experience.
