Room was clean and quite large and the German beer from the bar was excellent (took a couple of very heavy glasses of it back to the room to consume before bed). We didn't bother with breakfast but it looked quite impressive as we were checking out. The staff when we arrived were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are a little noisy as all the corridors and rooms have hard floors, so passing guests could easily be heard, and I think one of the people in the room above had an upset stomach. The hotel had been paid in advance of our stay, and it was only when we arrived that we discovered that they don't like card payments at the bar. They will add things to your room bill if it's going to amount to more than about 15 Euros, but they prefer cash. We only had 13.70 Euros in cash left over from a trip to France, so we handed over 10 of them to cover the 9 Euro bill for the two beers. That turned out to be a mistake as my wife wanted to buy one of their nice heavy glasses the following morning, but they were 5 Euros each and we only had 3.70 left in cash. We would have had 4.70 if we'd not left a tip for the friendly barman the night before, but the less friendly woman on reception wouldn't take a lesser amount or a card payment so we left without a nice reminder of our visit.
